Hi guys heres a pic of my cap costume so far, the jacket was made by indy magnoli, I made the shield using ply wood, I did want one of irish american lads shields but I did'nt have the money.I have a helmet on the way and have sourced the other parts although the thompson is being a pain to find due to the gun laws in the uk, so if anybody in the uk could help or point me in the right direction i would be very gratefull

cheers

Looking good. The helmet will really complete the costume, post some action poses once you get it!

One question, are those the pants you are going to use? Off the top of my head I remember the costume having pants the same color as the jacket and having some large pockets.

You can find decently accurate replica Thompson's on ebay. I bought a full metal, cocks and fired but the barrel is solid for around $240.00
I do know the they have airsoft ones as well that look pretty decent for much cheaper, so you may want to check out that route.

Edit:
Here was mine, its weighed around 9lbs

hey mate - I am UK based as well
you know they recently changed the laws on air rifles again? You can openly sell em again as long as they are 2-toned

detail aint great, and colour is fecked up - but nothign a trip to Halfords wouldnt fix ;P

heres the pic of the one available:

*just had a quick look myself - most are sold out at the mo' just being after x'mas and all. Shouldnt be a problem once they are in stock again I guess. They go for abt £45-£50+ shippin

also these guys sell the wooden - upgrade parts if you were that way inclined - http://www.actionhobbies.co.uk/searchresults.aspx?searchterm=thompson

oops btw - awesome looking get up man. I wasnted one of irish americans 40s shield too!! they look great

impressive:thumbsup very impressive
great work on your costume

Re: ww2 captain america progress

Costume looks great! But might I suggest weathering it some, give it a well used/worn look.

Re: ww2 captain america progress

PERFECT! Love the texture, layers and level of details. Do you plan to make him dirty up , vintage battle style or clean?

Also a muscle suit would make the final touch of capt america.

:love:thumbsup

Re: ww2 captain america progress

Thanks for the kind words guys, there is some weathering on the helmet and the leather parts,I just need to weather the webbing and pouches as for the jacket I think I'll leave it as I like to wear in when not in costume so I don't want to ruin it. I have just ordered the boots and sling for the thompson so hopefully I'll have it finished in the next week.Arivin I'll take some close ups of the mask shortly for you
cheers
