Worst Costumes and Props

As much as I love the movie.

So the PS2 controller was supposed to be alien technology all along? Like when they said the microwave oven was really alien tech?

Kevin

That I'm not sure on seems more like a product placement / joke to me. I'll give it my vote for bad prop on second thought just for squeezing an ad in there.

"Who's the Masta?!"

"Sho Nuff!" :lol

I loved when the kid got "The Glow" and proceeded forthwith to kick booty...

That's not from the distant past. Sorry, you have to go back 100 years for this issue, at least.

I assume you are referring to the 80s examples? Because the Elizabethan/Regency example is separated by as much, if not more time than the Old Western/Victorian period and the events in Firefly.

It did in high costume. It did not reappear in ordinary clothes.
If you assume that the firefly crew were high fashion models then you have a point.

Betsy's (what the minor ruffs of the regency period were nicknamed) did appear in all levels of fashion. Maybe not to the same size or extent. Lower classes would typically have much smaller ones banding the edge of a high collar. Also, dismissing something as "that only happened in high fashion" is ignorant as lower class fashions are always influenced by the upper class. Fashion does trickle down, though the poorer may create their own looks by simply trying to recreate what they have seen in their upper class counterparts.

No, they don't, I agree. However, are you trying to say that slug throwers and lasers are the only possible options?

No.. It was my impression that this is what you were implying. My apologies if I was mistaken.

I would like to point out, however, that it seems you have more of a problem with the concept, than the design. The idea was executed fairly consistently throughout (not perfectly). You just didn't like the idea that they were executing. Which is fair.

Now that Halloween is OFFICIALLY over, I thought I would give this a bump because I KNOW some of you have hilarious photos to share!

And the winner is.....

So just stumbled across this :eek aaaand I'm pretty sure it's burned into my memory forever. So... yeah, thanks... fer that.

I may be a little too nostagia-y today but does this guy not look like a failed He-man character? The boots and the chest rig clipped onto some kinda briefs, like He man's buddy Mexi-can... or Mexi-cor... or Pistolero... Dirty Sanchez?

Similarites? anyone?

Doesn't seem out of place for a theory, especially since in the first film established that a lot of modern technology of Earth was reworked from alien technology. K comment, "I guess I'll have to buy the "White Album" again."... Classic.

We just showed a Zardoz / El Topo / Shanty Tramp / Frogs as a Quadruple Feature here at the Drive In. Whew. That was a long night.
Laffo.

Moving right along...

I present you:

Barbarella, queen of goofy, useless gun stocks.

Oddly enough, i can live with that. XD At least it's easy on the eyes. XD

I think my vote goes to the Superman Returns Superman suit...try saying THAT three times fast.

Now, let me explain why. Over all, it's not a bad design really but there are elements that ruin it for me. One is the dark shade of red they used. I understand WHY they did it, but I still prefer a few shades lighter, but even then, my main complaint, is the amount of S insignias on that thing.

One on the chest, one on the belt buckle, then you have one on the back of each heel, then like another four on the bottoms of each foot, then the chest logo itself is COVERED with hundreds more. Does Superman NEED all those logos? It's almost as bad as the Batsuits from Batman Forever or Batman and Robin. Does Superman or Batman need to remind themselves about who they are, or even other people? You got a guy being rescued by Superman, I don't think you're going to not know who he is if he just has the one logo on his chest. Just seems a bit excessive to me.

It bothers me when I see powder fired, brass cased slug throwers in the future just in general. When they are designs that are anachronistic in the present it makes it worse.

So then you also have a problem with the machine guns in Aliens?
