Workspace Area

I'm just getting into this and was wondering what kind of workspace you guys have? I was thinking about making a spot in my house where I set up a work bench and stuff, but then I read how some of the things used can be toxic and now I feel like it belongs in something like the garage. Problem is where I live it's usually 90+ outside in the summer. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Living in a smallish apartment with my girlfriend, I am confined to the living room table from time to time and I use our sellar storage for the more dirty stuff. Painting I tend to do at my parents as I have no means of ventilation. Ideally, I'd say a dedicated space for sculpting, molding and painting would be nice, such as a spare room or a separate storage that's in a cooler but not cold place.

I'm lucky enough to have a house with an unfinished basement, so my costuming workspace has pretty much taken over my workshop. I used to do home repair stuff down here, but now I've got the following strewn about me:
* Two shoes with a huge lift that go inside my Predator feet. I had to fix them because the metal parts inside the shoes were rusted out, so I did some ugly repairs that will be hidden by the feet.
* A latex Predator foot in which I'm installing a zipper, so I can close it properly
* My bio, where I just converted the 9 volt tri-laser sight to work on a 12-volt car alarm battery.
* My mask, where I'm fixing the electrical connections to the fan.
* My iPod playing Ensiferum, a Viking metal band that you probably haven't heard of

Plus, a bunch of other clutter that I should probably clean up.

ive heard of them .. not listened to much but i liked what i heard

technically my workspace is my house XD whatever room i need to comendere to make something is the room i use hehe most of the stuff i do happens in my garage which is quite large too i rarely run out of space or the kitchen table for pepakura stuff the only problem i find in my garage is there is no heating so in the winter its bloody freezing!!!! i have to put heaters on 2 hours before i want to start work its that cold in there

in fact im in the garage right now working on my Dalek. no pred stuff at the moment other projects are taking priority right now but its the middle of summer so its toasty and warm ;)

im usually blasting the same kinda stuff as you elkman .... either some more well known metal dimmu borgir, finntroll, disturbed, or some lesser known stuff like gorgoroth or immortal and of course some heavy metal MetallicA FTW

also the same on the clutter XD

I use my garage in the US, and in China, I have a large multi-room workshop. Most of the rooms have A/C to deal with temperature sensitive stuff. If you are worried about temp in the garage, there are small A/C units you can buy and install. I would say the ideal minimum size for bigger things like suits is like 400 square feet, but you can usually make almost any reasonable space work. You just want to make sure you are not tripping over yourself while working. That is the real indicator that you need more space.

I'm squatting in an abandoned apartment building complex. Asbestos everywhere, lots of sunlight when there's no rain. Free water (when its raining). All the room you can use. Free electricity from a down power line and the whole lot doubles as a zombie movie set. My contract expires when the entire building collapses...

... Hey how do you think I can sell these props so cheap?

Also the entire place has been decorated by vandals. These guys are very creative. :p

Here's what it looks like
