Wolverine's Jackets

Hey Cole,
when you store your jacket (take it off) do you hang it on the hanger, or just throw it down somewhere>? did you ever wad it up at first to try and break it in right away?
[/b]

I put it on the hanger.

Of course I used to put it on the floor at the beginning but it just kept standing there. :D I tried to roll it togeter, walk on it with my boots on and all that stuff, but after the 4th time without any real effect you give in to fate and break the jacket in the old fasioned way, by wearing it. ;)

Well, this doesn't have much to do with recent discussion...but here I am on a recent day trip to St. Louis. Man that belt buckle was a pain at airpot security, haha.

He he...Gun is right, you realy do look like your avatar. :)

I like your jacket, especially the color of the stripes.

When I traveled with my buckle on, they made us put our shoes and all metal objects, including indian buckle, on a plastic box, so it all can go throug the X-ray machine. No hassles at all.

Yeah same for me. Not to keep this thread off topic, but I guess it just felt like more of a pain because I also had to take it off when going to the top of the arch (they have metal detectors and x-ray there too) And again when leaving, they actually had a security breach at the airport and locked down the concourse for about an hour. It was funny wathing the operators' faces as my box passed through...trying to figure out what that thing was, haha.
And yeah, I'm aware that I have a resemblance to my avatar... B)

Jase from COW asked me to post this pic here; it's the new Wested version of the x-men Wolverine jacket:

Well I suppose that's the best X3 version available, but still not even close to screen accurate. Looks like they just changed the stripes. Still, better than nothing...until David gets his ready...

Been really looking forward to an X3 version, but I must say I'm a little less than impressed by the Wested attempt. I'm happy with my X1 from them, its a nice jacket, but that looks like they're just switching out the details a bit, kind of a step backwards for it I'd say. Lighter colour again, stripe colour has changed yet again and is it getting longer? :confused

Yeah, thats the same thing I thought. Somthing else seems off too, I think its cause the brown leather looks distressed, but then the arm strips are pristine looking.

well first, that leather would be almost a perfect match if you ask me, reference any pics of the X3 in daylight, and you will see its almost dead on.

yes the length is too long, but you can probably have that changed when you order the jacket from them.

aside from the length, and the shoulder seem, its proably the best one
i've seen.

what is COW anyways?>

I think the leather looks too light, could be the flash or somthing throwing it off though.

The arm bands also look like they need to be moved farther up the sleeve.
I hope THEMAN doesn't mind that I used a pic from the other thread over on SHH.

well once again that whole weathering process comes into play again

if you look toward the bottom of logans jacket (the one w/ storm) you can see the real color of the leather, the darker spots are oil/dirt/who the hell knows what :p

yea the stripes could be moved up slightly, but the wested pic is kinda off because of the way the coat is hanging, makes everything look longer and lower than i think it would be if on a person.

what is COW? and are there any more pics there?

i will alter this pic to make it look correct, change the pocket angles, and arm stripes

Lrun - I don't mind at all, I always post information out there or here so anyone can grab it for reference.

Good work on throwing some mods to that already H8... it needs them. I'm with you on the stripes moving up about three inches at least, the torso shortened up about three inches at least, and the pocket angle moved more towards the vertical, and hopefully they only made the stripes go around the outside half of the arm.
I'm not worried about pristineness of the stripes, that's an easy part to weather... placement of them and length of the jacket is not too easily fixed. OH WHY OH WHY DOES IT LOOK LONGER IN THE TORSO?

The flash is throwing the color off, I gaurantee Wested has the color almost deadon with their distressed dark brown there. Just to refresh here's what I sent Wested months ago on some easy changes to get a halfway respectable X3 out there...
WestedAlter.jpg

the reason the stripes are off is they put them in the same spot as the x1, which would be fine, except the middle stripe is the thickness of like 3 of the outside stripes, which pushed them down the arm quite a bit.

like the man said, we both have an X1 wested, well he wont for much longer :p
but the color is almost exact, here is mine outside with no flash

much darker in some spots than you can tell from a flash pic

I'm still unhappy with my westeds color. It's basically tan. Except for the fact the it's gotten alot of abuse over these past months from hunting and dirt bike riding, it's colors are of out of wack. For instance, right now it's dark brown and covered in mold, but once it dries and gets clean, it should be back to normal...
