Wolf predator weapons..

Well AVP-r is just round the corner and I was just wondering what you all thought of the wolfs new weapons , the dual plasma casters , the whip! and his other bits and bobs. Do you think there straying to far away or is it ok to keep adding more weapons and new tools?
And also just what do you think of them ?

In general, I think the first two movies have been pretty far from each other arsenal wise, and given the Pred lifestyle, I think it's not far off to assume they don't run around with uniform weaponry. I rather believe they all have their weapons of preference, some taken off killed prey and all, so that would be fairly unique items.

Liking the dual cannons and whip at the mo, i mean if he is indeed a CLEANER, then hes gonna carry some james bond esq equipment

From what I've seen of Predators, they start off with relatively basic equipment (as demonstrated by AVP) and modify their personal arsenal as they get older (as seen in Predator 2 - Gauntlet Blaster), to match their hunting style. Wolf obviously took a liking to the whip and developed his skills with it, making it an important part of his personal gear.

Well 2 cannons makes sense. I mean he is trying to kill aliens, they multiply and swarm and the 2 cannons will allow the pred to kill more from a distance. Would you wann go into melee range of something that spills acid? Also from what i can tell (let me know if this is wrong) It looks as though Wolf is some kind of keeper. Making sure that predators have something to hunt, in this case aliens.

and I like the whip, its a nice addition and something out of the ordinary

as for the 2 cannons I agree with Usurper, I have been playing AVPR on the PSP & he is indeed a "Cleaner", a one Pred sweeper team if you will, so it would make sense that he carry the neccessary armament to get the job done...if he IS some kind of "Game Warden" then the dual cannons would come in handy as well

I also like what Aquis Hydro said, bascially to each his own...not everyone hunts with the same rifle do they??? it makes sense that THE Badass Hunter in the galaxy wouldnt carry the same load out as everyone else, so its good to see new weapons once in a while.

If there has been one constant to the Predator movies its this...they keep upgrading their Arsenal:

Predator 1 - Bio, wrist blades, wrist NUKE/computer & Cannon

Predator 2 - SPEAR, throwing disk & gauntlet blaster

AVP - Shuriken & Net Launcher

and finally AVPR - THE WHIP & dual cannons

I for one am thinking about adding the whip to MY arsenal, but I doubt I will go Dual Cannons...my suit already has dual wrist blades (or WILL)

That's correct to the best of my knowledge & understanding behind the reasons why each Predator has their own unique weapons of choice. Each pred must learn how to not only use all sorts of different styles of weaponry, but will also be assigned the task to prove their detailed knowledge within this category by designing & building their own individual weapons of preference by themselves before they can advance further up within the ranks of the clan. I always really liked that particular aspect about how they're so throughly trained to hunt.

I love the whip because it gives the Wolf sort of a "fight fire w/ fire" type of attitude for taking on the Xenomorph's & also since the Aliens have been using their tails as whips for years. I wanna see Wolf "bitch whip" an Alien & then give it a look as if to say "Yeah, now you know what it feels like...****** stings, don't it?"!

they used the net gun in predator 2 as well , with the Jamaicans whe they tie up that guy.

I like the two canon deal he's got going on.The whip though is by far my favorate new weapon.The detail on the hot toys
model is just killer.Looks like it could definately tear some **** up!

I like all the new weapons. I think the whip is very cool and very Indiana Jones-like, in a good way!

Though I like the new weapons, and having new eyecandy is always cool, I think it takes away from the character of the hunter to go in over armed. This isn't the case with Wolf though, in my oppinion he's not there to hunt, just to chew bubble gum and mutilate every alien on the planet, so him having a swiss army assortment of weaponry is ok. But when you look at the 1st pred vs the 2nd pred, remember that the 1st Predator went in against US special forces with a guantlet and plasma caster, that's it. That's why he's my favorite badass Predator.

The prey had better weapons than the Predator in that movie: A helicopter mounted gatling gun? ARE YOU FREAKIN' SERIOUS!?! LOL, how often do you get to see a Predator rough up two governers in one movie?

I thought the unfolding gauntlet power glove type thing was a interesting idea. I mean if you havte to punch through something, and you have advanced technology, and you insist on punching, you might as well not break you alien hand bones.
