Hi folks,
I just thought I would share my latest project with you all.
I am fairly new to the forum and have always wanted to make a Darth Vader costume. I have trolled the forums for information and guidance on this project and have found some great people along the way.
The Plan:
Create a buck to which a mold can be fabricated.
Use the mold to cast a fiberglass piece.
Use the above methods to fab the other pieces and complete a 501st ready costume.
The Upper Chest Armor:
I decided to start easy with the chest armor. I began by creating a template in photoshop and printed it out. I then laid out that template on a .25 " chunk of sintra I had left over from another project.
After cutting the basic shape out I began forming it with a heat gun.
I really wasn't happy with the shape of the shoulder folds so I got back to heating and bending till I got to a shape that sits better on my shoulders.
I think I will use the heat gun again to fix a couple of minor things before I continue.
Next step adding the raised sections of the armor. I invite you to comment and give your suggestions. I am going for a 501st worthy costume.
More to come
Thanks
Richard
