I'm SOOOOOOOOO glad I canceled mine! This thing is so fugly I can't describe in words.

Can you send that back? Have you tried contacting them about that? Because there's not a lot of difference between that helmet and some of the old Rubies Trooper helmets from a while back. It's SO completely misshapen and... Wrong.

Good Lord... :rolleyes

Not sure if I Can, I an contact them to see, but yeah it looks almost nothing like the helmet from the movie except for a basic design. I can't believe they spent half a year before sending these out and they couldn't get them exacly like the movie helmet. I could understand if they were mass producing these like rubies does for their costumes, but come on, they are only making 250 of these. There's no reason they have to go and make it look like this. I'd rather pay the same amount or less for a fan made helmet that actually looks like it came from the movie than this.

yea, it looks like crap cause they wanted to make it out of real metal. I bet you it would have looked alot better if it wasn't..well, they wouldn't have been "hand made"

Even if it was made out of metal they could have done alot better then what they shipped out. For the limited amount they were making, and the amount of time they took, from the day they put them on sale to the day they shipped them, and saying they had the actual prop helmets from the movie to use as references, they could have made them look exactly like the real prop, they just didn't and decided that the hype of owning a Ironman Helmet would make people want to buy it.

Perhaps, but its just another example of how licensed product's quality and accuracy will never be as good as fan made.

Its even much more of a shame that these come from the same studio the actual suit was made

That looks dreadful!

Arent these the guys who have the Star Wars costuming license? - In which case I've got a baaaad feeling about this....

Cheers

Jez

What's with the suede welding glove lining? Didn't he use that on the Mark I? Why would Stark use a welding glove to line the helmet of the Mark II? Nostalgia?

What a joke.

It looks like the medieval interpretation of the Mark II helmet. Windlass Studios needs to stick with bascinets and rapiers.

Thanks for the pics. The 300 lids were better, but still not well coated with brass as claimed. Guess I will avoid their products for good.:unsure

Just not impressed...........eyes are totally messed up as are the back and side of the lower jaw. When they say it's "Based on" the prop, they mean it. Loosely based on it that's for sure.

Well, already sent it back in the mail today, good riddens I say, what a waste of money and time waiting for something like that. Gotta wonder what the rest of their Marvel products will look like as they are doing that with their Cap Shield too it seems. So guess I'll have to go the route of trying to get one of the fan made ones from on here. Anyone know who I might try and contact them about getting one if they are available?

Their COA is even incorrect - for the purists, it is Stan Winston Studio, not Stan Winston Studios.

For a casual reference, (like on our board) such an oversight is acceptable. But in published media such as this, for shame...

i dont believe for a second that "A" company couldn't produce a really nice metal helmet.

these guys are just out of their depth, what they think is acceptable doesnt cut it with real collectors e.g. their real customer base.

it seems to have been styled from memory rather than actual SWS reference.

once word gets around i think they are gonna have a big dent in their projected order books.

if i was sideshow i would distance myself from them right away, its only harming their good name up till now.
how could a company with such a reputation think that collectors would be happy with that product. they really took their eye off the ball on these guys.

slightly o.t. ...... the mk1 helmet... are those supposed to be weld beads? i was a welder many moons ago on the rigs and they dont look anything like weld beads to me. windlass, stop patronizing your customers.

anyhoo, glad you had the sense to send this back and hope you get your money refunded. sorry it didnt turn out to be what you wanted.
i only know all too well what its like to get something that is far from perfect. except when i send stuff to myself:lol
