Will's Lightsaber

Hey Guys, if anyone can give me a hand or bit of advice on this, I would greatly appreciate it. As you can see below, this is an old lightsaber hilt from circa 2005 when Revenge Of The Sith Came out. As it does have sentimental value to me as well as it is part of the Jedi way to build your own Lightsaber, I am wondering if anyone has any bright ideas as to perhaps touch the handle up at the bottom of the saber, I have been using a solution that removes adhesive such as Gorilla Glue in addition to touching it up with alcohol.View attachment attachments (2).zip IMG_20160120_072227655.jpgIMG_20160120_072305177.jpgIMG_20160120_072246628.jpgIMG_20160120_072234674.jpg

Like Sym-Cha said.

In short, just keep at it with alcohol. I've used alcohol pads, or rags and/or cotton balls with alcohol. Some grips get stickier than others and require a lot of passes. I remember using a large amount of pads with one particular set of grips.

I forget exactly what makes them sticky. Has to do with something in the grips seeping to the surface. The good news is that whatever that is, it has its limits. It's been years since I had to clean grips (also the grip on Star Trek: The Next Generation phaser and butt plate on an airsoft rifle) and so far I never had to go back and reclean them.

Thank you!!!!!!!!

Also, one last question: Does anyone have a basic blue print for construction with custom parts for a situation such at this? Like what is required to make it combat worthy.
