Will Resin Melt Latex?

I'm about at the stage where I'm going to use resin for the first time. I'm thinking I'll go down to AC Moore and see what they have. My sister has used resin in the past and says it gets very hot as it dries. Just wondering if there is any danger this resin will melt or damage my latex mold? And will it be easy to seperate from the mold once it dries?

I personally have never used latex as a molding agent nor have I used the
type of resin of which you speak. I've always used silicone or ultracal molds
and fiberglass resin, bondo or latex for casting. Bondo and FG resin don't
get hot, so I'd have to guess that it would not hurt a latex mold. Not really
sure though. Hope this helps!

I've used latex moulds and resin many times and haven't had any problem with mould damage. Resin does generate a fair amount of heat when it cures but not enough to damage the latex moulds I've used. Resin and Latex both obtained from Trylon.co.uk and they recommend the two products to be used together. What you need to watch out for is warping of your cast as it cures. I sometimes add a uniform weight across the top of the mould as it starts to harden up to keep it flat. Really depends on the size and shape of the mould. Silicone is better but it's so damned expensive. Hope that helps.

I've used resin in a silicone mold and it didn't damage it a bit.....not totally sure about latex.

when it was half-cured, it seemed warm, but not enough to damage anything.... you should be good to go.

ive also used latex and silcone molds for resin and some of the resin ive used has gotten very hot but has not damaged it at all.
