I know you have a million things on your plate, Ryan Clinton , but just wanted to see how this was going. You work on some great stuff, so I'm always interested in your progress.

Hey yes, the spear. By far the most difficult thing I've done so far and I have been working on it for months. I have re-shaped several areas and it seems every time I finish an area and move on I discover the shapes of a previous area I finished so I go back and fix it. I honestly could spend years on this thing but that won't be the case. I'm about finish with the one side of the spear. The other side will be much easier mainly because the references I have and that are out there are so bad. I'll do my best to sculpt what I believe it looks like. There really is no way to tell for sure but it will at least be a good likeness of the spear. Unless the owner wants to let us 3D scan the original.
I think the paint job on this thing will add a bit of depth when I paint one. I did a shadow test.
Replicating organically shaped stuff like this always makes me want to get a cheap screen projector to cast an image onto the work piece lol.
