Why isn't there a Battlefield type GI JOE game?

Has anyone heard anything about Hasbro blocking any kind of GI JOE multiplayer game? Years ago some mod team attempted to create a Battlefield series type game with the 80s GI JOE cartoons and Hasbro shut it down. That type of game would be awesome! Has anyone heard why Hasbro won't allow it? It seems like a perfect fit.

Mostly cause they're jerks from what i've heard. They'd rather ruin their properties with lackluster movies. It's the same reason we never get any good Transformers games until War for cybertron came out.
