I need a short length that is 15cm by .5 cm with a series of 1mm by 2mm rectangles (I can supply a template).

Can anybody do this for me? It'll make ya famous...!

I've got access to a laser engraver that can mark brass. Not exactly what you're looking for, but I thought I would put it out there.

I can. I do. And now you can too. Here's a tutorial I made...

Photo Etching Tutorial Using Negative Photoresist - YouTube

If you don't want to do it yourself, I will certainly be able to help. I have no desire for fame. If that's part of the deal - I'm out :)

How thick is the brass?

What I need is a template for etching paint from acrylic, for a larger project of mine. Hence brass - the template needs to withstand / endure constant contact with an Exacto blade or other etching tool. How thick? Don't really know but not too thick, I'd suppose.

.015 or .032 inch brass would likely work well as it's really rigid. If you go to any Ace Hardware, they have brass sheets in those thicknesses. Wiggle them around and see what you think will work best. From a - how fine of detail can be etched - standpoint, the thinner the metal, the finer the detail. Thicker metal requires larger holes and gaps between them.

No fine detail - just a .5cm strip 6 or 8 inches long with a few small rectangles. The strip will need to follow a gentle curve, so needs to be just a bit flexible.

If set-up isn't too horrendous for such a small job, I'm happy to give you what you need ($$ wise) if you can do this for me.
