Which Sewing Thread for Lycra costumes (Raimi)?

I'm experienced with sewing non-stretch fabrics, but I'm purchasing a 4-stitch Overlock Serger to sew high-stretch Lycra (spandex) costumes (Raimi style patterns) with, such as the Spider-man costumes. I would just hire a local seamstress, but I have several costumes in mind and it would be cheaper to buy the machine & learn myself. I know that 3-stitch and 4-stitch machines with stretch needles are optimal for sewing high-stretch fabrics, but now I'm left asking:

WHICH THREAD do I buy? I'm left deciding between 4 popular quality threads:

1) Regular Polyester Serger thread (Maxi-lock or Guttermann)
2) Wooly Nylon Stretch thread
3) Maxi-lock Stretch thread (not as "wooly" as wooly nylon, but stretchier than regular serger thread. Hasn't been out very long)

I have read all kinds of information pertaining to thread types for Stretch fabrics. Some people say "Wooly Nylon on the loopers, polyester on the needles." Others say "Wooly Nylon is overkill because the stitch type is stretchy enough, and Wooly Nylon is difficult to handle." I don't know how stretchy the fabrics are that they are sewing, so I don't know if Wooly Nylon is required.. or if it's over and above.

What are your experiences with sewing Lycra and the various thread types?
