Funny, I was *just* thinking about this myself. I had done some checking around, right now, TBBG is the best place to get a helmet. The guy who makes them does a superb job. I had heard that MonCal was making one as well. I know he had ID'd the majority, if not all, of the greeblies on the helmet. The Altmanns looked pretty good, but I've only seen a couple of photos of that one.

I would suggest signing up on TBBG Yahoo group. That is honestly your best resource.

Yes you did, it was mine had it posted in the JY
it was made of a very thick vaccum formed plastic
bought from Marco Ent.

My apologies if my pic posting is too much, it's just hard to show the detail on this without taking a few pics. I hope you like them.

Cheers,

nice job kraig!

is the part in the center of the "teeth" a found part?

the rectangular piece.

the tanks on the back have these rectangular pieces too on yours.

Thanks Mate, I'm still not happy with a few paint details, but when I built her, she was a rush job to get my wife a suit up and running for a con. Also, the tank greeblies aren't mounted correctly. I know the bits you're talking about are found in a Ferrari model kit, although I don't know the kit or part :confused

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Cheers,

Kraig

Thanks for the compliments, Wes! I started TBBG 5 years ago, and we now have almost 500 Boushh costumers and enthusiasts on our board. We welcome new members, so drop and check out the YEARS of archived discussions. :D

The guy you refer to in your 3rd sentence is Scott (known on the RPF as "Dark Shadow"). He's been making them for years, and includes the model parts AND lambskin with his kits. His kits are vac-formed. He makes the shoulder armor/tank kits, too. PM him or me for pricing.

Stay away from GoldenArmor (do I even have to say that?). Likewise, stay away from Altmann, unless spotting painting and wonky-looking helmets are "your thing". :lol

Thanks, and happy hunting! :cool

No sweat bro. I'm actually on TBBG right now looking at a sweet helmet and armor kit as we speak. One of the perks (if there is such a thing) of being in Iraq is, after a year we get a little bonus money for each month over 12. I'm seriously looking at getting a set.

I've got a set of Scott's helmet and shoulder armor in a box waiting to be assembled. I got sidelined with some eye problems just after receiving it. I walk past it and get sick because I can't build it (right now). :lol One day soon... :D

Fantastic work Kraig! The whole set looks stellar! Excellent finishing job on it too. I thought we were looking at screen used when you posted the pictures.
