What's going on with EFX?

I'd rather an announcement closer to the actual release, with units actually starting to be produced, than to keep us dangling in the wind for something that might never materialize, like so many other prop companies.

I hear you, brother! I'd rather NOT know, or see a prototype, of something that may be available a year from now. I'd rather wait and see new product that will be shipping next month. Because, let's face it, guys. In this hobby, it ain't yours until you're holding it.
As mentioned above, I too am waiting for the next Muppets offering. It REALLY hurts me as I have the first three and I believe the first one that EFX was going to do was Fozzie, which just happens to be my very favorite of the bunch.
How long has it been since they announced that?
See what I mean?

I call the RPF "Thurpff"

It all started when my wife and I first met and she asked me "why are you always on that website.. www. thurpff .com, what is that?!"

been calling it thurpff ever since.

:lol

I emailed Efx not long ago, asking about the Obi Extreme and when it might be coming out, but never heard anything. I'm wanting that and the smaller scale Falcon if they do make them.

How do you pronounce thurpff?

Is it thur-puff? Like someone with a very pronounced lisp saying surplus?

The crew at eFX are some of the hardest working people I've ever met. They're passionate, know their products and take real pride in their goods.
As I understand it, they've been putting out wonderful replicas and I've read nothing but positive comments on their goods received....and I suspect that once the concept Vader ships more and more collectors are going to be very happy with their eFX purchase as well.

They're a bunch of hard working guys and this stuff does take time to get right.

Nothing but love and respect for eFX from where I'm standing.

Nothing but appreciation for their products from me either, just some frustration at the pace of SW releases.

How much have they actually produced? I have no clue, honestly. From the posts in this thread, you'd think in their 3ish year history they've put out 3 or 4 things.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I don't doubt they work hard and take pride in their work. However, it doesn't matter how much you bust your hump on stuff. If your main point of communication with the public is a website and it does get updated on a regular basis - that's not a good thing. If you don't have anything new, product wise, fine. But do something. Make fun of yourself, tongue in cheek wise. Anything. Don't let it stagnate.

They have been very active with the Disney license and have worked quite a few events this year including the D23 premiere club Disney started last year. Working out such plans can be time consuming, I expect we will hear more as the year progresses. Disney also has a reputation of being laborious to work with. As they have invested time and effort in EFX, it is with good assurance that such good end results will show in the near future.

They donated something like 50 helmets for the 501st's TK Helmet Project (the charity fundraiser for CV). So that was cool of them.

Beat me too it. I keep hearing the same complaint from people that they have not done too much or what have they done. What more do they want from them?

The also did the Stunt Lightsabers and they have a lot of stuff in the works.

Here's a positive stunt lightsaber review:

I thought we were still waiting for those.

I think some people suppressed memories of them coming out, mostly because of the paintjob on the V2 I think (although the body looks nice considering the price). Also heard of at least one person who got a kinda lopsided Obi-Wan RotS saber.

EDIT: All hearsay on my part though- haven't seen any of the stunt sabers in person.

There were some people on Rebelscum that bought all three and posted pics. All the Obi's were warped like a boomerang and the V2's all looked like @** with the bad paint job and magic marker weathering. The Anakins had issues with the plating; so all in all a line that I would stay away from.

Are they light though? Would they work as belt hangers? The metal ones are a little heavy for many to wear on a belt.
