If you had $200 budget for a model... what scale model would you get?
I'm just curious to see what's the most popular model. :confused

I've spent that much or more on garage kits. (1/8 - 1/3 scale figures)
Currently waiting for one to show up that cost that much.

You can get cheaper models then spend lot's of money on aftermarket parts.

For just over $200 you can get Trumpeters new 1/200 scale USS Arizona 41 Ltd E.

Thanks all for your input, and I know many here might spend MORE than $200 on kits... but for for us POOR people, if you DID have a $200 LIMIT for any kit, what would you get? :confused

Man just thinking about what I would get makes my head hurt. So I started thinking about kits that I have and would buy all over again if I hadn't gotten it the first time around. What came up with was Pinkerton designs Little Green Man. If I remember right it cost me right around 200 bucks. It's 1/1 scale and he came with a 1950's style raygun.

I hope trumpeters a chinese company

I would get another FineMolds Millennium Falcon in 1/72 or a pair of 1/72 Monogram Space Shuttles with boosters (they will be reissued for about $100 each retail this year).

The first question that should be asked is what your interested in.
Sci Fi, Aircraft (type), Ships, Cars, Monsters, Figures, etc.
Also what scale do you prefer to work in?

As I mentioned before something cheaper then add on aftermarket parts to modify or accurize it would be a better option then just one kit or for that price a bunch of cheaper kits.

I see what you mean. And that's OK. I guess I'm looking for is Sci-Fi.
For example, if I had the $200 budget, I would get:
A. Two FM 1:48 Tie fighters & an X-Wing to make a diorama.
B. A FM Falcon.
C. 1/350 Refit Enterprise with add ons
Etc.

With a list of potentials I would then start shopping around.
I've seen kits with a price range of over $30 in difference depending on the store.

Places to start looking (places I have bought from) would be Starship Modelers, CultTV Man, Squadron, Tower Hobbies, Mega Hobby, Hobby Link Japan then start doing searches in google for other on line shops.
Some Stores also have sales on items and or give discounts for purchases over a certain amount.
Don't forget the cost of shipping, some sites may offer free shipping if you spend over $100.

Fine Molds can usually be found on the Starship modelers, CultTV Man and HLJ sites the other sites I listed will carry the Trek, BSG and other assorted Sci Fi sundries.
