What would stick best to urethane? Batman Cowl

Basically, I have a batman cowl made of urethane that is perfect except for a slightly crooked nose. My idea is to take a small thin piece of metal and contour it to the shape of the nose and cheek area from the inside. Then brush some urethane over it to actually attach it to the mask. Would this work?

If not, is there any glue out there that would work well for this? To glue the metal piece in? Someone mentioned superglue gel.

My goal at the end is basically to just be able to move the nose over that tiny bit just by moving it and having the metal hold it there. The face of my cowl is pretty thin so the metal would not be fighting much.

Thanks for any input

Aquaseal wetsuit glue(its urethane based), or Urebond from Smooth-On. Superglue would work too, a lot cheaper than the urethane glues. For what you are wanting to do, I'd use the superglue since it will stick on and cure fast.

Use gorilla glue. It cures(dries thoroughly),but it doesn't become brittle like superglue,or wet-on cement. This is also waterproof when dry. This is polyurethane based. Be careful if you use this stuff,as it will expand upon drying! It's really good for filling gaps too! A little goes a long way.

Go with super glue. I recommend zap-a-gap quick-setting glue. About 8 bucks at a hobby store, but well, well worth it.

Thanks for the input guys. Gonna grab the kid and head to Home Depot and see what I can find. Will look for zap a gap or gorilla glue. I will also post when I do this all to show how it went.

Doobie> Thanks for the tip on the expansion. Should be ok as its inside the mask and this area does not sit on my face as there is room to spare.

I just said that,so that you'll know to clamp it while it dries. Otherwise,it's ok! This is what I use for rubber, and hard to glue projects! This stays a little soft to expand with cold, and hot temperatures unlike superglues! I used superglue on rubber before, and it DOESN'T LIKE IT!! This only holds for about the first week or so,then it comes right back off! It's too brittle! I just don't want you to glue this, then have a bunch squeeze out,and have your mask permenently ruined by inexperience,or bad advice! Rubber is soft, and superglue is hard - this equals an imbalance between the two materials! I should've said this in my last post - SORRY!! I hope that this will give you a better understanding,so that you don't have to keep regluing with different types of glues, and still have unsatisfactory results!

Oh ok. I just got back and did buy Gorilla Glue. Now I see what you mean about clamping. I highly appreciate the help! I will be testing all of this first on the bottom inside of the cowl before I try the actual area on the nose.

Thanks again Doobie. The help is always appreciated! Nice and friendly place here. :)

Sure thing Haze! Thank you for taking my advice! I tried this stuff(gorilla glue)after it had back luck with superglue! This stuff is real strong, and there's no worry about cracking,or crazing(whitening)around the area as superglue does! Testing on scrap,or in iconpicuous spot would be a good idea! I'm glad I could help save you a lot of work,or rework, and a huge headache!
