What we want in the next AVP game........FOX!!!!!!!!!

3rd person POV while playing. I hate first person games. I want to see the pred in action, not just his (my) wristblades. Similar to Concrete Jungle but better graphics.

int he new one on multiplayer online do you as a Pred have to find your weapons or do you start with them? In the demo you had to find them and thats some unreal garbage. I hate that.

You still have to find them, on the 360, use LT & for best results use Thermal vision. Don't know PC or PS3 controls.

IMO, AVP can only be an FPS. It has been for the past 4 generations, I don't see why it suddenly should be 3rd person. (Well, on a console I could see why, since a console just plays better in that perspective IMO)

In short I'd like to see the following:
-same level of detail on the models, rendering and lighting or better in the next version (It was the best part of AVP, and that on an in-house engine...)
-skins that change more than just the heads for MP
-better fitting combat system. (I really HATED the melee rock-paper-scissors thing, I liked the classic versions better. I understand why Rebellion did it, it just didn't work for me and a lot of other people. Bad Comany 2 has a more hybrid melee combat system, which would work fine for AVP I guess.)
-A more interesting storyarc (AVP'10 was AVP'99 for the most part: Rebellion clearly missed the good, story driven other games that were released in the past decade
-Another developer/publisher (Rebellion ****** up IMO, as did SEGA)
-No more smallish arena-style maps
-decent MP support
-gamemodes that support the concept instead of the same old poo again
-Class based/squad based MP where fitting.
-customizable weaponlayouts and character decorating.

Graphics are great, so...

> Better storyline
> Third-person
> More weapons
> Playable Predalien, Dog Alien, and other Alien/Predator classes in MP
> Normal non-systematic combat system (just like the first two AVP games, NO rock/paper/scissors)
> Chargeable secondary attack that can be released whenever the player wishes (like in the first AVP game)
> Non-linear gameplay, in the style of Crysis, but with larger environments (due to the third-person and less-advanced graphics engine for mainstream gaming)
> Longer campaigns that don't necessarily have to tie-in to eachother
> MP maps not based directly off campaign environments (they can be in the same style, but not exactly the same rooms)
> Monolith (guys who did the FEAR games and AVP 2) heading the whole thing, with Vivendi Universal (the Concrete Jungle guys) as partners

Custom marines could be done simmilar to Halo 3's custom spartans. It wouldnt be to hard I'm sure just swapping some parts.Predators could go a bit in depth. As there is quite a bit of armor work in there. And aliens could get skins but unlocking scars battle dammage changing color?Just saying who wouldnt want to look like a runner who happend to stay alive long enough to turn gray.Actually Halo 3's customisation might be a good way to try it considering if they want to try the option out and do it for all specis.

Like what dude? :(
ahha for example
more realism in the game
better graphics
better frame rate
better/more physics
3-D
ALIEN
aliens can spit acid
if you lose a limb you can carry on playing eg lose a leg you can still crawl/ tail gets cut off, you can shoot a limited amount of acid, utill you bleed to death

the rest i can't tell you, under rules and regulations, the rest hhaa you need to be 21 and over to play it will have that much gore and action

I agree with gam3rgod on the survivor mode. Play as a predator in an alien hive and see how long you survive. And if your health is depleted, a random series of button commands will pop up anytime randomly within 1-5 seconds for a couple seconds and disappear. If the player presses the buttons in order on time, they self-destruct and get BONUS POINTS ;)

I'd love to see sone of the features from the first few games implemented - All the destroyable lights, being a good one I miss ;) In AvP1 it was possible to put some areas in near total darkness.

Species Evolution Mode in AVP 2 was great.
Starting as a facehugger was so much fun.

Love the self destruct idea!

replay value, a grander scope and more solid MP would be key though.

I actually quite like AvP2010 in terms of graphics, I just loathe the short length, the horrible melee-combat (which are presented as quick time events during SP, I hate quick time events in a game), the poor sense of control, and the way AVP and AVP-R influenced it.

Not sure who to blame though, Rebellion stuck it's foot in the door when it came to the Marine boots for example. SEGA requested Gears of War type of marines, with the big boots and all, rebellion opted for a more realistic version. Somehow it reached a middle ground in what is found in the game, but if this radiates to all departments of the game, I honestly can't blame Rebellion for what happened...

Totally agree with you, man.

Why not have a new company develop an all-new Concrete Jungle with better gameplay, graphics, larger environments, and story? Perhaps gameplay on both Earth and the Predator homeworld. Totally free-roam, but with clear goals in sight. Concrete Jungle also had a first-person targetting mode, so it pretty much had everything you needed, minus the stuff I just mentioned.

While I enjoyed AVP 2010, it was one of the most linear games I've ever played. Much too formulaic, almost like it was a hollow shell without the meaty extras it should've had.

Ya know, I am pretty pleased with most all of AVP 2010. All that would have made it perfect for me is:

the ability to lean
ability to crouch
and that we be allowed to start a server and play the maps with just ourselves. None of this "must have 2 players" crap.

Well, 1 more thing. I didn`t think they had a clue as to how to make the Predalien level.... interesting and immersive. It was a pure console experience for me. It didn`t fit in with the rest of the game at all. Predalien footstamping et`al. Otherwise.... THE most outstanding possible letdown, is the total lack of any real movie based levels/maps for mp.

You guys could not have said it better. To me "Concrete Jungle" was the best one so far, wasn't the greatest game ever but good for Predator. For storyline, why don't they take it back to some of the old comic book stories (lots of different stories in the game). The third person thing should only be optional. I personally don't like it. With all of ideas on here, we all should be making the game and movies for that matter.

-Stay away from homeplanets
-Stay away from comic book storylines
-Stay away from the AVP films and back to the grittyness and dirtyness of the original films (just realised the AVP predators just looked far too clean to be believable)
-Stay as true to source as possible where possible
-Mix the intensity of AVP 1 with the story intensity of AVP 2 and give them a coat of AVP 2010 graphics or better.
-Don't dumb it down for new players, or the lore and franchise will be forever lost.

I'd love to see a sandbox-type game liek Just Cause 2 set in the AVP universe... With a set of plot based missions, amid a load of one-off optional areas to explore.
Would work really well IMHO.
