What the hell is the story about the MR CE Trooper helmets?

Guys.

Why on earth are people paying upto £260 for an Master Replicas CE Stormtrooper helmet? You could be these for £50-£60 a while back :confused

I just saw some ended auctions on Ebay and they are going for silly money.I know ive been out of the loop for a bit regarding the Stormies but these prices are insane-and they are bloody inaccurate aswell.

God only knows!

Maybe people are getting the LE and CE confused? Or possibly they just think it is the only thing on the market.

When they first came out, they were a cheap alternative to an FX bucket.
Do a couple mods & it's really not bad.
Of course, for the money they get now, you can get an accurate helmet or even 2.

Part of the problem now days is that there is not that much available on the open market. The eFX and MR LE's are going for over 2 or 3 times as much as the CE, if you can find them. So, unless you are on one of these boards and know someone, that leaves the CE.

Just supply and demand, even the supply of the CE dried up so now they go for higher prices.


There have even been recast CE's showing up on the 'Bay.


Somone said EFX was supposed to re-release the CE so that should knock the prices down some if they just do a re-pop.

Good points and obviously they have not been on sale for a while now. There are also a lot of people who might fancy a stormtrooper helmet but have never been on a forum to realise there are other options.

How many CE helmets were made in the end?

I am a bit surprised but it looks like they are going for £200 to £250 so the market must be dictating the price. Even if they are not accurate they clearly are collectible now same as many other SW pieces.

I got both of my CE buckets for less than $75US each
too bad i already modded them or i could make a little extra cash.

I sold mine to a new guy hoping to join the 501st a few months back for $75. Who knew the price would go up so much.

Didn't like the seam line or innacuracy, even for the low price.

If you spend a few hours on it, you can get them looking really good for not too much money. Even the 501st has approved them with these changes. So I'm guessing there are a lot of people that would disagree with that statement.

I got a AP and a TE2 as well.... and yes, its not like one of em, but I like the MR CE for all its charms and symmetrical-ness

still mine was bought for GBP 49.90 back in the day

depends on what you want to mod it for as well mate; 501 or jusst becuase you like it to be more like a screen accurate.

1. brow to be raised
2. seam line at the mouth area to be made seamless
3. teeth widened - and correct number included
4. ears are a mjaor problem, some replace with accurate ears, there are mods to be done on FISD on how to thin em down
5. correct number and placement of screws in the ears
6. correct colour tube decals
7. correct hovi mikes

those are what I fixed on mine anyways

I just spotted this on GalacticHunter.com today. According to Toy Palace in Germany, eFX is re-making and re-releasing a new version of the original MR CE helmet for sale in June:
