What is your favorite movie mistake?

Not really a mistake...well, maybe an editing mistake. I was watching Last Crusade a few nights ago and noticed something I had never seen before. Had to check it out to make sure I didn't imagine it.

When Elsa hands Donovan the false grail, there's a shot where he holds it up and says "...this truly is the cup of the king of kings". In the background of that shot you see Elsa turn to Indy and move her head side to side as if to say "no, it's not". The very next shot is her turning her head (again) and giving him "the look" with no head movement.

I dig that I can still see new stuff in movies that I love.
There's a similar-ish scene in the movie: 'The Hunted'. TLJ's character opens a door & BDT's character is sitting in a chair by the window. As clear as day, BDT says "Come in...", but there is NO sound. The very next shot is a close-up of BDT's face, & he audibly says "Come in...".

Surprised this one has not been mentioned yet. I picked it up in the theaters and it cracks me up every time.

When Kurt Russel first comes over the dunes in Stargate you can see the lighting equipment reflecting in his sunglasses.

More Last Crusade: in their Venice accommodations, after the boat chase when Indy and Marcus are discussing Alexandretta, the diary gets closed three times.

in the first Diehard, the scene where the deceased bad guy comes down in the elevator sitting in the chair. Hans swipes at the dead guy's head to one side and he blinks.

There are soooo many but two of my favourites that I haven't seen mentioned here are the guy in the street behind Indy in Raiders who's wearing jeans and a T-shirt.

Also the extra exposing himself at the very end of Teen Wolf is hilarious!

In Hitchcock's Foreign Correspondent, when the plane is crashing the ocean is seen rear projected in the cockpit windows. The screen then rips open and water is flooded into the set.

As the cabin fills with water, the camera tilts up revealing the edge of the set and the studio lights.

Can't believe no one mentioned it but the big mistake left in there by Speilberg in Jurassic Park where they show the T-Rex walking over to the cars coming from his cage when they are stopped by the goat but when Dr. Grant and the girl escape after the T-Rex attacks them, the cage has now turned to a huge cliff.

Also, noticed this is Temple of Doom (I thought it was a mistake but my wife didn't), on the mine-cart train chase through the tunnels and caves Indy is fighting a thugee on the back of the cart, punches him off but takes one more punch and misses, he then turns back to Willie and laughs ad puts his head down as if he wasn't suppose to take that extra swing but the thugee gets back up and punches him to continue out the scene.

Not a mistake. Likely referring to the Colony of Virginia.

Colony of Virginia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The challenge is (and this is not just my opinion, but that of others as well) that though colonists had attempted to settle Roanoke Island a bit earlier, ROanoke was not successful and (I believe) it was post 1607 Jamestown when reliable, viable settlement of Virginia was in place.

Traveling to Virginia from England in 1593 - though not necessarily a flat out death sentence - would have been an extremely dicey thing to do, especially for an aristocrat with a newly wed bride.

I never saw this as a mistake. I always viewed the track they were on as a loop. The goat cage was on one side of the T-Rex paddock, the cliff on the other side.

"The Great Escape"

1. in the solitary room with the baseball you can see the best boy gaff holding the mic on the other side of the door.
2. in the tunnel you can see the top of the tunnel and the warehouse wall behind it.

Here is another funny one. Charlies Angel movie portrays a bird identified as a pygmy nuthatch. Doesn't look or sound like a pygmy nutchatch.

This is the kind of error that doesn't make sense to me! Why on earth bother to write the scene to mention some kind of bird other than what you have onhand? Mistakes like this, where the flubbed detail is unimportant either way, just bother me.

In Jaws when they assemble the shark cage, there is one brief shot from above where Brody is shirtless. On either side of that cut, he's wearing his T shirt. I just noticed that for the first time in who knows how many viewings this week.

I'll have to look for that one.

The last time I watched Jaws (which was a few weeks ago) I caught something I hadn't seen in any of the previous viewings, and I've seen the movie at least 100 times. In the lead-up to the fake shark attack (the two kids with the cardboard fin) there is a shot of two young women splashing each other, with the fake fin moving behind them. Just before they cut away from the women, someone from behind the camera throws a towel to the girl on the right and it lands in the water in front of her.
