What is your favorite movie mistake?

Twister near the end of the movie with the F5 tornado, Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt hits a tractor with their truck and smash the windshield but in the next shot, it's fixed. LOL

There is more to that scene than you know. When that tractor boom hits the windshield, it killed the stunt actress for Helen Hunt.

Braveheart - towards the end of one of the big battles, and the fighting is winding down, you see two extra's in the near background (supposedly engagled in mortal combat) believing it was a rehearsal or that the scene was over, stop fighting and rest their weapons on the ground and look like they are just talking / laughing.

I was just watching that yesterday and noticed it. They are taking the swings nice and slow.

Also, the start of the battle(was noted earlier) Mel changes between an axe, to grabbing his sword, to no weapon, back to the axe, than back to the sword.

I always thought he said Mr. Wallace.

He did say Wallace, everyone mistakes it as Willis because of how similar it states it. Even is noted in the subtitles.

Being able to see the scaffolding and incomplete set when Kirk leaves the Enterprise to go after Spock in the extended version of TMP.

Kevin

I saw that in the theater. It's 2x4s and plywood! I guess they were going to matt paint it over or something. How that got missed by so many staff is incredible.

In the Matrix when Neo gets his phone, there's an arm on the desk, but no one should be there.

The Matrix, Neo is staring at a black screen at work before the phone gets delivered to him

Probably not a mistake as he clearly hates his job, so he wouldn't do any work.
I guess it's sort of a reflection on how empty and pointless his life is till he enters the real world.. Maybe.

Definately the yellow car in Commando. Its not just a scratch changing position or a broken window fixing itself, but the car goes from totalled to fine.

My favorite movie mistake is the entire 4(+) hours of "Star Wars Ep1&2" I slept through most of Ep3 - so I can't really comment on any mistakes in that one...

The AT-AT walking when the speeder rounds it, its edited so it walks with the same leg twice. Vaders helmet wobbling in the wind when telling Luke he is his daddy.

In T2 the pistol changes from ****** (thats the word???:$) to uncocked alot during the scene when John orders the terminator to not kill anyone. I always disliked that the T1000 doesnt look like the cop he kills first. When the truck follows John on his bike, the front wheel axle breaks , so one wheel is pointing outwards, the next second it drives again.

Don't know if it is really a movie mistake, or more of poor thought process.

I was watching The Patriot, and in the last battle, you have Paddinton standing there about to kill Martin. Now, we are talking around 15-30 seconds standing there, while nothing but American troops are running past them. I know that this is meant to be plot between the two, but come on... There are literally a hundred regulars/militia running past a redcoat holding a sword with a militia kneeling on the ground. You can't tell me that all of them wouldn't of noticed that.

In reservoir dogs at the stand-off at the end, Mr White isn't pointing his gun at Nice Guy Eddie, but when they all fire, he drops down dead! I think Harvey Keitel couldn't move his arm quickly enough! Ooops!

Seriously?! Geez! Where did you hear that?

What if it was discovered that EVERY single movie mistake in this thread ended up with someone on set getting killed horribly?

heres another

if Andy Dufrense escaped from his Shawshank prison cell down a tight tunnel then how did he put his poster back on the wall ???

The hole Andy made in his wall let him into the service/maintance area of the jail (water pipes, drain pipes, electrical) as his cell was at the end of the line. He then climbed down and around to the sewer pipe and waited for lightning/thunder to mask the sound of him hitting the pipe with the big rock to make an escape hatch.

He could probably have very easily reached back into his cell and laid the poster down flat, but even a rolled poster that's been hanging flat for 10 years would just fall flat behind him.

This was probably already mentioned, but I don't feel like reading the entire thread to see: Indy's magic bag strap in The Last Crusade when they are fighting on the tank. He goes over the side and barely catches the barrel. Then all of a sudden he can't let go because the strap is caught on it. There is some fighting and he climbs back onto the tank without the strap holding him back.

Robo cop when he takes down the Blob Pump guy ....when they show It on the news sequence he bounces.

Not my favortie, but most recent. Close enough, right?

Watched Wanderlust last night- very funny, by the way.

There are 2- The commune gives a big lecture about how they rub fingers instead of clapping- less obtrusive, or something. Then 10 minutes later they all clap after tipping a car over.

And then the same car, with a broken window covered in cardboard, is shown several times over the next few moments- sometimes with the cardboard sometimes with the window in place.

What is it with movies and mistakes with car damage??

In Raiders Of The Lost Ark, Jones gets on the submarine and somehow gets to the island with the sub-pen.
If it submerged he would drown, and if it traveled on the surface there would be lookouts on the conning tower.

And how did they get the crate with the Ark into the sub? There's no door that big.

And after they do the ceremony, Jones is still on an island with hundreds or thousands of Germans. They didn't watch the ceremony so are still alive. How does he lug the Ark to a port and get away?

do we know there were more Nazi's on the island?? Maybe it was a small group?

It's got a sub pen. Those are for restocking and repairing subs. And it needs protection from enemies. There would be hundreds of people.
They wouldn't build a gigantic concrete structure and just leave it out there for pic-nics and religious ceremonies.
See Das Boot. [it probably was the one from das boot.]
