What is your favorite movie mistake?

^ Real time often eludes movies and television programs. I've lost count of the number of times I've seen a ten-second countdown (usually a digital counter on an explosive device or computer screen) last 15 seconds or more. "Ten... [three seconds pass] nine... [two seconds pass] eight... [another two seconds] seven..." and so on. :rolleyes

Maybe the poster from Shawshank was weighted along the botton edge. Or Andy just used the same magic he used so the warden's suit would fit him, even though he's like a foot taller than him...

Shawshank is a perfect movie. No mistakes! None, I tell you!

:lol :thumbsup

Speaking of Raiders, there's the truck that "exploded" and flipped over, but you can clearly see the telephone pole sized piling they used to ram the ground and flip it sticking from the bottom.

I bet you never saw that until AFTER you saw the making of Raiders.

Not as much of a mistake as it is a contradiction. ROTJ final duel. Vader has been trying to get Luke to turn to the dark side and kill the emperor since ESB. When Luke finally gives in to his anger and tries to do just that, Vader STOPS him and the duel ensues, throughout which Vader entreats..."Give yourself to the Dark Side." HE JUST DID! I know. I know. Lucas needed a fight and he sucks as a writer, so this is the best he could do. Still...

Yes... why didn't Vader LET Luke slice through the Emperor's face? Why did he block the blow? Why didn't Vader defy his Master and say... "Luke, let's go to town on this guy" ?

Really?!?!

I find that movie barely watchable.

People constantly mis-understand the...

"You don't know the power of the Darkside, I MUST (he emphasizes MUST) obey my Master."

He doesn't CHOOSE the Darkside. It consumes him.

Until the realization that this cackling old man is going kill my son.

I know Jeyl will blow a circuit, but the father/son thing works.

That just speaks towards the arrogance and over-confidence of the Empire. Grand Moff Tarkin even says, "Evacuate? In our moment of triumph? I think you overestimate their chances." Lesson learned: Never underestimate your opponent(s).

BTTF Doc uses a remote control on a manual transmission but never see him shift on the remote. He also sends Einie 1 min ahead, I counted 1:21 seconds til he gets there

It breaks my heart to reveal this movie's two mistakes, because BLUE THUNDER is one of my favorite films of all time. Still, it was fun catching these mistakes! Here's a link to the video with the mistakes in question.

BLUE THUNDER River Chase

Mistake #1: At 0:54, there is a shot looking through the pursuing helicopter's window where you can see the Blue Thunder helicopter taking damage. If you look to the right a little bit, you can see film crew both on surface of the canal. If you look really hard, you'll even see a camera attached to a crane!

Mistake #2: At 1:05 is a shot of the Blue Thunder helicopter flying underneath a bridge and over the camera. In the VERY NEXT SHOT, it's seen flying over the camera and underneath the same bridge. What makes this shot interesting is that if you look at the second bridge it flies under, it's not only the exact same bridge it just flew under in the previous shot, but the camera angle didn't even change! It's the same set up just showing the helicopters going under the bridge in different directions!

In #2 above, how is it a mistake? They deliberately used the same bridge to represent two and tried to edit it in such a way as to suggest it was two. I might have been a weak attempt, but it was quite deliberately done and therefore not a mistake.

The same goes to you clock watchers. ;) It is not an accident when an edited sequence does not match how long the characters say it is. It is absolutely intentional. Editing is all about playing with time.

Intentional ≠ mistake.

:lol

There's your mistake. It was a weak attempt!
