It looks like window screen. The black fabric-like type as opposed to the old school metal window screen type.

Ah yes...that looks very close.The problem ist which type is it?There are many repairkits and screens on ebay..but the pics are not good enough to see the finde struture.

Just search ebay for steel woven mesh.

You can also try searching for decorative brass mesh. It comes in several different styles and some websites have different types of screens such as punched metal.
