What is the diameter of the Golden Snitch?

Preferably the diameter of the CoolFX version seeing is that is the exact size.

Anyone? I'll even take the diameter of the Barnes & Noble sticker kit one, seeing that is pretty close in size. I want to sculpt the shield that holds it in the Quidditch case so I want to get the scale right.

That I am aware of, the Golden Snitch in the movies was roughly 1 inch, 0.984 inch to be exact ( 2.5 cm ) in diameter..

That is the answer I keep getting but it seems way too small. I wish I could just get a measurement. I have an approximate size of the sheild comparment but a 1" snitch would look tiny in it. Thanks for the reply. Still hoping someone can get me a measurement.

Here's a pic of the Golden Snitch I found at a HP fansite. I think it's the screen used one from an exhibit. It is tiny but it looks like it might be closer to 1 1/8 or so. Hard to tell.

The width of my finger is .75" and that pic looks like it is like 2 fingers wide making the snitch about 1.5". Unless you have tiny hands. Thanks for the pic

The one I have out of the studio mold is roughly 1.25" My calipers need a new battery, but it's REALLY close to 1.25".

I went to the Warner Bros Studio in London this week with a ping pong ball (40mm) and a Shapeways snitch by Porda). The original snitch used in the movie is much close to the ping pong ball size. You can't really hold a ruler up to it because it is in the center of a glass display box.
