What is the Best Star Wars lightsaber?

This is a custom MHS build I'm working on right now.
It will have a PC 1.6 soundboard with a 10w RGBA LED. I'm using, for the first time, a trans-white blade from TCSS.

I love the look of the first original trilogy movies because they don't look so manufactured. If I had to pick out a character favorite, it would be Obi-Wan's. If I had to pick out one to use for myself, it would be the Obi-Wan saber from the Phantom Menace for the ergonomics of the grip. Having dueled with the FX sabers a lot, many of the designs are hard to work with in using the grip for saber battles.

Agreed, the OT sabers are not comfortable to duel with, except the Luke ROTJ because of the smooth rings. The Obi TPM is very nice to duel with. The MHS I'm building is very comfortable to hold.

Ok! Even though I agree that with making my own would be the best rewarding choice, I don't really have any understanding about wiring, or how the mechanism of a Lightsaber works. So not the best choice for me. I finally made my choice and I bought a Qui Gon Jinn Lightsaber Master Replicas Limited Edition on e-Bay for $220, which is a good price. What do you guys think of my choice? Im so excited this is going to be my first Master replicas item, and also my second lightsaber. I already have the FX Darth Vader one.

Nice one! I don't mind this lightsaber at all. I used to think it was quite plain compared to the OT sabers, but this one is easier to grip. Although I know yours is a prop without electronics.

I can't really comment on the quality of Master Replicas' products, as I've only seen them through the glass in display cases at various venues; i've never held one, and I've never seen any of their Qui-Gon Jinn sabers. As for the saber itself, I liked the design from the moment I first saw it--relatively simple and free of the cluttered look that can come from too many greeblies or external details. Good choice!

since your max is 1600 and you want a Qui gon...

quigon LE.MP4 - YouTube

that was made by MH over on FX-saber forums. shoot him a PM and he may be able to help you out.

or you could see if you can get a spot on the Vader's Vault/ Saber Concepts 1:1 Qui Gon Jinn lightsaber run. good luck on your search :)

If you are looking for duel lightsabers for a good price, it's better to go with the extending lightsabers because it's cheaper and you can buy another one easily if the current lightsaber is damaged or broken. If you are looking for good looking replicas for just single use, you can try the FX Lightsabers. Or if you are looking for the ones like a lightsaber making kit, you can go for that as you can make several lightsabers. Or if you are looking for the ones with a crystal chamber, you can buy parts and make one of your own. Hope this helped! :)

have the same qui-gon,was watching yours, but I live in France, and shipping fees are expensive...
I found the same here in France.

The LE MR is not too bad,no regrets to have it.
I mainly bought it as a reference to make mine, including light and sound.
My first idea was to machine directly on the existing saber, but I will finally machine some delrin and aluminum and make a replica, with some minor changes, mainly on pommel.
The most difficult thing on the Qui-gon saber is accuracy on the black part of the hilt, the grooves take half of the hilt,it leaves only a few room for electronics...
Other matter is the sound holes,no way to do like parks, drilling the pommel,so I will have to find other way.
Then the last problem will be the internal custom parts,I like when there is some technology inside(energy cell crystal chamber)but the qui-gon is very different to other sabers....

If you want a fx qui-gon,I can only suggest you to buy one on ebay actually,It's 350$,machined from delrin, can be easily modifiable to display light and sound.
