What is the best BLADE RUNNER BLASTER out there?

I´ve seen the final cut bluray from BLADE RUNNER yesterday and love the movie. Now I would be happy to have some props from the movie and first an accurate Deckard blaster.

What is the best blaster out there and what are the prices?I would prefer a full metal version.;)

I´ve seen the deluxe Off world blaster on ebay..but is this version really accurate?

the offworld is too small actually and not correctly sized.

I would say the best 2 blasters are the ones made by Tomenosuke and Richard Coyle. I've only owned the Tomenosuke one (the Pro and few of the kits) and it's damn near flawless.

As for price, a finsihed blaster usually costs $1000 +. The Tomenosuke kits run at $600 but you need to assemble, paint, and blue the pieces yourself. I just sold a finished kit for $1200 and have my last one (the one I was originally intending to keep) up for sale soon. I saw one of Richard Coyle's blaster on eBay with a starting price of $1600 a few days ago

Hope this helps!!

Short of a build with the actual firearm parts. No question in my mind....Tomenosuke already built as originally offered or pro-build up of it.
It is not full metal but it's plenty heavy.

I'm looking at the coyle version on ebay, and the triggers look a little off to me,especially the front one.And looking at the front of it on there, it looks all offset.Sorry to sound so critical but it's 1600 dollars.Just wondering if it's normal for a coyle blaster?

I personally would not pay that much. It's a model kit and has to be handled carefully. My builder put in a herculean effort to assemble mine, but perhaps that is why the cost is up there.
The Tomenosuke I can actually flip the cylinder closed (bad to do on a real revolver) and it can be handled quite robustly.
The trigger function is much more firearm like and gives a nice snap and of course the cylinder will actually turn with each trigger pull.
It's tight and of course the parts were computer drafted to fit precisely and the lines are very clean. I own both but my Coyle is a few years behind the latest kits and missing the improvements of the last few years.

I look at it this way that each shines best......

The Tomenosuke as originally offered or built up clean is like a newly issued firearm.
I think it matches well the as delivered to the set pictures of the actual prop.

The Coyle when weathered portrays years of service, and veteran status of the weapon.
It's heavier due to more metal as well.

Thanks for all the great informations,guys!;-)

When the OFF WORLD version is too small...its out!

The thing is...I think I have the skills,to build a good looking blaster from a kit, too.Including painting and weathering.

But the opinions differ here...so I would be very happy when you could show me some pics to see the differnt details of the blasters.I would be also happy to see good pics of the original hero blaster from the film.

There are a LOT of threads here regrading the Blade Runner blaster as well as pictures. I suggest you take yourself off to PropSummit as well because that is the best resource for anything to do with Blade Runner.

Honestly the way things are going lately, what is available to fans just keeps getting better and better,

Going for a kit , I have to recommend Richard's, it's by far the best kit you can get for your money and with a bit of hard work , you can built a very good replica of the filming prop and with care can reproduce something approaching 99% accurate

No, I had an Off World and then got Richards most recent version and it is much larger. The Off World us based in a .38 Special frame vs. the actual .44 Bulldog.

Plus that version of my model is a Plastic version and many models (versions ago) OLD.

I, like the old VW Bug, had almost yearly updates and upgrades until the latest version that is now two years old and there is no room for any changes..

If your doing compares please use the latest model.

Rich

PS here is my latest eBay ad:

Blade Runner 2011 Movie Prop Blaster BY Richard Coyle | eBay

MODs it is not a live auction.

I'll second what others have said. Richard's is simply a work of art. Not to mention, owning one of his is owning part of RPF history. It's more personal that it came from a member. I don't own one personally, as I just recently got into the whole BR thing, but I sure would love to. I have the tomenosuke kit, which I also can't say anything bad about. Richard can confirm this, but didn't They get your input and measurements while making their blaster? I also really liked the "Kit" aspect of it as I haven't had a build project in years. So this was a nice clean DYI with a great result.

Well unofficially with out my permission, they had to have one of my models in the beginning.

IF you see the auction pictures, in a couple of them they compared their model to the real thing, and reveled that they were using one of my cocking levers.

You see I did not know there were the last two digits of the receiver serial number stamped to the underside as they did not know.

My cocking lever came from a 1972s Steyr Receiver and had the serial number ending in 00, not 32 as the real one does, and the year is also shown, and the import stamps are located differently on the prop's cocking lever than on mine.

They had use mine as the model and thus had my 72 year and stamps.

I am betting the used my model to help them understand how the parts went together and model their model.

Here is a picture:

After the auction they when back and made changes and corrections, as did I.

Just to pile onto the the Richard love fest. :) I just don't think there is another replica on the market that so closely represents the actual screen used prop. Admittedly, I am biased as he is also a very good personal friend and I have been privileged to be able to visit his home and see the entire history of the development of Blade Runner blasters as well as all of Richards other amazing contributions to screen and replica props in sci-fi. I just think there is no better representation of this blaster then my Coyle 2011V, especially with the added removable .223 magazine. Enjoy the pics. :)

Ah intersting...but I´ve seen there are a lot of models from OFF WORLD out there. That on ebay is the "deluxe modell" not the C model. It looks a lot better as the one next to the Coyle on the pic.

The blaster on your pics is very nice. What is the price for one of this babys?

Ask the guy who posted just above you. :)

I had the OffWorld C, it is much smaller. The pic with the two side by side is a very old model of Richards that was plastic.

Just got off the phone with Rich, he is doing much better :) .

HE(Richard Coyle) is the MASTER of BLADE RUNNER pistols PERIOD!

I am proud to also have visited him at his home, his collection is a DREAM LAND of REAL ARTWORK I have ever seen.

Be Well Rich :angel
