What is the best BLADE RUNNER BLASTER out there?

Karl emailed me and I DROVE to CA and was there personally looking at the real blaster, there is one picture of me holding it in my eBay auction.

Was just going to go down that road about the Sidkit.

Rich's version is THE best imo.

I remember fondly how the latest version developed over this board with Karl phoning Rich what he found at the Con! :thumbsup

Ok E-mail! :lol

I know it was one helluva drive Rich!

Never mind, I am thinking if the Hartford version.

Yup, that was the other Japan version from, what was it, ten years ago? If I recall correctly, it wasn't really accurate but had the addition of being an airsoft shooter....

I recently bought a resin kit off of ebay from Australia and hope it isn't too terrible. I wish I had known of this forum beforehand, as it has opened my eyes as to what is available.

This will be my first Blade Runner pistol and I hope it's at least a passable version. I guess it's too late now.

Does anyone have any experience with this particular kit?

Those particular kits are a modified recast of Rick Ross's PKD V2 blaster. Someone else bought one, you can read feedback here:

Once Propsummit comes back online, you can read even more about them here (and see some opinions and build-ups): http://www.propsummit.com/viewtopic.php?t=2975

Here's Rick's original website, always worth a look: http://www.pflagerkatsumata.com/archive.htm

Darn propsummit is down again???!!!!

I hope they can get that fix, it is on and off way too much.

Rich

It is hard to keep track of all the recasters.

I saw this also on ebay...but I asked the seller for a pic of the finished blaster...he has no pic of his own finished product. Not a good sign in my eyes.
But ok ...its not so expensive. But I like a blaster with moving parts and metal more.

My 2 cents worth.

For the most accurate and with the most working features IE: Green LEDs light, red LEDS light, removable ammo clip, with automatic lighting of the LEDs during replacment, working bolt, working cylinder opening, working hammer trigger system, Mine was cast off REAL bulldog and REAL Steyr Receiver, ammo housing and clip and parts and off a REAL stunt prop for the side covers = Mine. Also I have been around for over 35 years so I still offer repairs and service on my oldest models.

For the next most accurate model with a great finish but all machined new tooling so it is NOT off any real gun parts: any of the Tomenosuke models.
Note Because of Japan's toy Gun Law they have to use Plastic for the Bulldog pistol frame, the barrel and the cylinder, and they have to put metal inserts into the barrel and the cylinder. So far they have lacked the lighted Green LEDs and my removable clip. all other features are the same.

The Next most accurate is the Sidkit. (You know why)

Then I would list as less accurate but low cost and good cosplay: The Offworld, and the Hartford.

Last the recasts like the one just talked about..from down under..

1.)Yours is the best..thats right. But too much money for me.
2.)The Japanese blasters are sold out right?
3.)The Sidkit looks great.I saw some pics in the net now..all full metal.Has it moving parts? Is it still avaible?
4.)The OffWorld looks great...but when its so much undersized its not a good deal.
5.)The resinkit is not a good deal I think.

All,

Thanks for the info. It appears that it will take some time and effort, but it should be able to be built up as a decent enough piece, considering its price.

I'm sure the old axiom applies "You get what you pay for."

i've owned several versions over the years -- richard's resin stunt, richard's metal (from kit), rick ross kit, off world, sid kit...even an early version from MARCO that was inaccurate but not too shabby considering there weren't many good stills and it was made in the days before internet, DVD's, etc etc.

without going into any of the drama sometimes associated with the sidkit, i will say it was the nicest version considering how easy the kit went together and the price (i think it was $250 or $300). that said, it might be tough to find one at anywhere near that price as they have long been sold out and do not pop up too often on ebay or these prop boards.

as for the most accurate, i'll leave that to others who have scrutinized the "hero" photos and have a more experienced eye than mine, but it appears that the Tomenosuke and Coyle are perhaps the most accurate currently available, but a tad pricey.

good luck on your continued search.

Thanks for the infos...I think the sidkit would be the right blaster for me.I would pay 300-400$ for a blaster kit...but not over 1000$ or more. And when I see whats out there at this time...I will wait for somebody who is making a great and accurate metal kit for a lower price.I can wait.;-)

Only What you have read here.

It was a recast off one of my models years ago.

Other than that I have no more to do with it.

Rich

Hi!
Just to be sure... are you sure that Siderio's (sidkit) blaster was a recast? I think is good to prove something before say something so big...!
