What Is A Movie Everyone Seems To Have Seen Except You?

Jurassic Park or any of its sequels.
Any Marvel movie other than GOTG.
Any Mission Impossible movie.
Karate Kid (either)
Goonies.
Any TMNT movies or cartoons.
Home Alone
The Shining
Top Gun
Any Rocky Movie.

For me: Pulp Fiction. At this point it's like a challenge. How long can I resist?

Citizen Kane.

A few years ago I started going back and watching "classics" to see what I was missing. I honestly found Citizen Kane to be a tad over-rated. Maybe its because the whole Rosebud thing has already been spoiled for me. Who knows. I liked it OK, but it didn't rock my world the way so many claimed it would.

Casablanca on the other hand: deserves all the hype it gets plus a few scoops of Citizen Kane's hype on top of it.

Godfather movies
Starship Troopers (loved the book)
Avatar

Starship Troopers...I never read the book, but from what I've heard from people who have: if you liked the book, avoid the movie.
Avatar: did you see the poster? Have you seen...movies in general? Then you probably know the entire plot.
Godfather...there, I think you're missing out.
Jurassic Park or any of its sequels.
Any Marvel movie other than GOTG.
Any Mission Impossible movie.
Karate Kid (either)
Goonies.
Any TMNT movies or cartoons.
Home Alone
The Shining
Top Gun
Any Rocky Movie.
Looking at this list makes me think we must be very different people. I want to send you a message of peace from my land.

Man, a couple of you have surprised me...it's a good thing this site is all done over the Internet or I'd have to smack a couple of you guys!

Citizen Kane (good call, Bryan)
Interstellar
Memento
Casablanca
Dark City
Looper
The Blair Witch
Captain Americas (except the first one)
X-mens (after First Class)
The Exorcist

The Blair Witch might be the worst-aging classic/hit in recent memory. Without the dark movie theater, and without seeing it through the eyes of a late-1990s audience, there isn't much left to like about it. Its success was entirely due to timing.

Nobody is missing anything by skipping Starship Troopers, honestly the 80s anime and the newer CGI show were better. The first one was like 90210 in space with nothing but pretty folks. Only good parts were Clancy Brown and Michael Ironside, the later ones are a bit better but are really low budget direct to video.

all the Harry Potter films
all the Transformer films (except for the first)
all the Terminator except for the the first two movies
all the Alien movies except for the first two movies and Prometheus
all the X-Men movies after the first three
The Big Lebowski
Goonies

(I'm surprised how many people haven't seen The Godfather)

Titanic
Interstellar
Chappie

... and I don't intend to see them either.
There are lots of relatively recent movies that I have not seen, but will: The Martian is at the top of the list.

You might be thinking of Dina Meyer who was also in Beverly Hills 90210.
The satirical style and tone in Starship Troopers is classic Paul Verhoeven. I think that someone who had enjoyed the style and tone of Robocop (the first movie only) would also enjoy Starship Troopers as well. The sequels are B-movies, not worth watching IMHO.

Missed out on a lot of the mob/crime movies that come highly recommended. So none of the Godfather movies, Scarface, Goodfellas, Heat, Casino, Usual Suspects, etc.

Also, none of the Fast and Furious movies.

Blade runner
2001 space odyssey
twilight movies
new super man movies ( after Christopher reeves ones)
Star Trek movies

Hahahahahahahaha......pretty much everything outside of the movies I've talked about here at times a list would be too long but to do a short take:

Any of the "classic" films of the B&W era i.e. Casablanca,Gone with the Wind,Citizen Kane,it's a wonderful life et cetera.

Stuff like the Godfather films (who cares is my feeling) the 2001 film I've seen bits and pieces, goonies,Gremlins,ET never watched them,Ben Hur and on and on.

I'm the guy who's watched all the very odd out of the way films and never cared one wit for the ones people go crazy for.

My first thought was, Godfather movies, but I see I'm not alone at all. But having read over the thread, a ton of movies as well.

This thread reminds me that I need to watch a lot of older movies, i caught the end of French Connection the other night as I never saw it either. I haven't seen the new Star Wars either.

E.T.

As for Citizen Kane, the most impressive thing about it is that it is totally the work of an auteur, and a young one at that. It also brought to mainstream Hollywood a number of film making techniques that hadn't really been mainstreamed. And there's the whole controversy about getting it made and released at all. For the most part, I think it holds up well, too. Perhaps not as well as Casablanca, but then Casablanca benefits from being a timeless bittersweet romance set within the context of World War 2, so the whole thing just feels, well, timeless.

Okay so 2001 is on Netflix.....I tried to watch it.....what the HELL was up with Kubric back then? I swear the guy excelled at making long, boring films that confused the daylights out of a person :wacko

Bottom line I prefer Bladerunner for making me think, thank you.
