what is a good benchtop saw for metal?

I am looking into buying a benchtop saw to cut softer materials but also sheet metal and maybe some thicker metals like brass (20mm).
I want it to be able to cut with good precision.

You have saws with circle blades and bandsaws. Any pointers towards a good one? Which is preferred bandsaw or circular blade?

thanks.

I have a Wilton 14 inch bandsaw for about 2 years that can, between pulley changes and a 2 speed gear box, cut anything from steel to aluminum and wood.

Only downside is that none of the local shops carry blades in that saw's blade length so I have to special order blades.... which isn't bad when I remember to order them so I have spares on hand, but I frequently forgot to order them and have to wait a few days.

If you're just doing aluminum any woodworking bandsaw (with woodworking blade) can be used, you actually want a higher blade speed for aluminum. I only do blade/speed changeovers on the rare times I cut steel. Either way when cutting aluminum, get one of those blade lube sticks so the aluminum doesn't gum up the blade teeth as bad. Other than that just remember blade width controls how bad the blade can drift and keep the guides in adjustment
