What happened at your Halloween outing?

I'm new here. I have made a few costumes over time, but I didn't really consider getting too serious about it until last year. I got into the furry fandom last year around this time and it was very stress relieving for a traumatizing family situation I was in.

I am currently working on a costume. A tauntaun, if you must know. She's not exactly movie replica worthy, though. She's a fursuit, which I would like to go into business making for a living. I would love to share what I have, but her finished style isn't going to be movie grade formal so I don't think I can do that here. I'll have to find another website that isn't so strict on the movie replicating part. I appreciate the dedication and the strictness of the community, but still, I'd like enough freedom to kinda post my progress on what I do have, even if it has my own spin on it.

Unless, people would like to see her anyways. I think I have a knack for buidling these things. To be frank, I never would have considered costuming. I can hand sew a little bit. This is a big step for my ego, as well as my confidence. I'm going to sew a body suit, soon so wish me luck. I'm so poor and I don't have a pet shaver or a sewing machine. This will have to be done by hand, and hot glue. I have no job either, so it's kinda bare minimum with everything.

Anyways, what happened on your halloween night with your costumes, eh? Did you get a lot of compliments, wrong identifications, freaked out people, pictures, a wondering dog hiking his leg and peeing on your costume? I mean...it could happen, lol.

Do share!

Mine was rather short. I'm home now and it's only 10:30. I had a church event earlier.. I dressed up as a pirate kangaroo, which I made the kangaroo fursuit. She was the first one I made for comic con this year, but I didn't get her finished in time. My first con was not the same without being in costume. It was all right and I say that because seeing so many other people in costume was highly saddening to me, in addition to the family situation, I had been looking forward to doing something I had never done before.

I did have some friends record us running around target in our costumes tonight, though, so that was fun, but after about ten minutes, while reviewing the video, the camera started to spazz out and get really skippy. THe really funny points of the video are after the ten minutes. I"m really sad. Anybody know of any editing programs or converting programs that can correct the glitchiness of an old digital camera? The camera is a 2006 Kodiak. I don't know what model, but it's old. 6 megapixels, lol. Very old.

By next spring I hope to have a brand new camera for the cons I'm going to. Can't wait! I did go to a rens fest this year in my area about three weekends in a row, but I put so much time into my first and ONLY finished fursuit I've made. I just don't have the money in big enough intervals to finish anything. I can't stand that! I wish this halloween could have been better before I have to hang up the stume for the rest of the year.
