How to keep Vader cape over shoulder pads?

I have a prima Lux Vader costume that I got for my kiddo (6’0” 15 year old), but we are having issues being able to keep the cape draped over the shoulder pads. How are you Vader’s out there keeping the cape in front of the costume?

PS: that me in the costume, I’m a tad taller, and a “tad” wider.

Not a Vader cosplayer but I'll offer my musings.

Looks like your cape isn't patterned correctly. See attached photo for reference. Vader's cape should sit comfortably over the shoulders and yours is sitting behind the shoulders. Essentially the edge of the cape should be up near the front of your neck but the edge of yours is nearer the back of the neck. It also has to do with the weight of the fabric. It needs to be made of a weightier fabric like wool, flannel, etc. Thicker Cotton might even do the trick but it won't be as accurate. Not sure what material yours is from your photo though.

Two fixes I can offer are A) get a whole new cape with a pattern that comes over the shoulder and made of a weightier fabric or B) use Velcro or magnets to keep it where you want it. Option B would only work if you're not going for 501st approval though I think.
