What did you make this year?

Jeepers, where to begin.

Finished stormtrooper armor molds, and made armor for a fan film
Made molds and cast E-11 parts off of my L2A3 Sterling
Made RFT helmet molds and helmets for the fan film
Not too many kits for me this year, but I did work on some TOS stuff, some Halo armor, and some BSG viper helmets [TOS]

I was only in the hobby for the last four months of the year.

I modified my Rubies Supreme Vader with new paint, lenses, tusks, grills and mesh as well as some filler work.

Did some work with my Vader belt including saber clip and weathering.

For this year:
- Satin lining on the cape
- New shins and cod
- Whatever comes my way. :D

This year I made several Kyle Katarn sabers, and a 12inch Kyle Katarn. I'm a bit of an outcast fan. Hope to tackle a Yoda saber this next year of possibly a 1:1 Yoda. I've got a set of latex head, hands and feet just need to build a frame and get out my wife's sewing machine for the clothes. Here is a pick of the Kyle figure and saber.

I don't know as I could say I've *made* anything prop-ish this year (other than some very much in process firefly toys) -- but this is a long-term project I've been working with on and off for the last several months. In fact, it's what led me to discover your site here. :)

Anyhow, I've been trying to figure out a way to make a working copy of Mal's pistol from Firefly -- not just a revolver in a brass shell, but a working magazine-fed semi-auto. I always liked the look of the old-timey Civil War era revolvers, and kinda wanted one that was up to date. When I saw Mal's, I thought "what the heck? why not try?"

Figuring out some parts of the design were a real pain in the neck, but once I tossed the idea of keeping the Smith trigger group, the rest came together pretty well. The design borrows heavily from Browning's 1892 rifle patent (which had a box magazine under the chamber) and the sliding bolt lock of the 1894. I'll need to put back the "loading lever" that was in place on the original concept piece in the Visual Companion as a gas tube though, rather then try pulling it off so close to the breech.

The picture shows some old patent drawings, my sketches, some early prototyping efforts, Phil's wonderful cast of the original prop, and the '94 I borrowed inspiration from.

It's still gonna be some time before I have anything workable, but eventually it'll get there. :)

(If when I finally get a working model done someone would care to make an AutoCAD of it or whatnot, that'd be right shiny. :) )

This year was a painfully unproductive year for me. With my divorce and my work that kept me out of the country or state for almost half the year, only a few things got done. I did manage to acquire a ton of pieces this year, so i guess that's pretty good.

Here's the projects i finished personally:

Korben Dallas business card:

I think that's about it. Actually, not that bad of a list. Also not pictured is my almost complete han in carbo. But since I didn't finish it yet, I figure it didn't warrant mention.

WOW... your a talented bunch. ...

all your projects are very impressive, ..I really liked the figures made from superheros, the detail is fantastic.

Nice job.
