We use to be able to leave feedback for Seller and Buyer has that gone away and now use “Like” instead? Like anything new the new site will take some getting use thanks Art and Fellow developers that worked hard into making the new site.

Seller feedback is something we are still working on implementing (and hopefully porting over from the old system.

I'll echo the thoughts that it's a little bland and I hope some creativeness is included soon - the rotating banners of the last site we're nice and and seemed relatively simple - if something like that is possible here, I don't know.

As mostly a desktop user on a fairly wide monitor, the wide/responsiveness of the site is taking a little getting used to and might be causing some eyestrain. Funny, I remember the old site and it not being responsive being a bit of an issue.

I miss the menu bar at the top with the links to the various sub forums, it made navigating the forum incredibly easy and fluid. The lack of it makes the site seem smaller than it really is.

The copyright footer isn't centered.

Cheers!

We will look into what can be done to liven up the top. Someone earlier pointed out that you wouldn't know what the site is and that IS a concern and something that needs to be addressed.

The responsiveness of the new design was a major factor in the move. When I started here, everyone was on a desktop and the biggest difference was Mac vs PC. Now, there are so many platforms upon which the site has to work smoothly that it is impossible for us to stay on a fixed-width stage and still be viable.

Going to look at that copyright issue today.

I had the same question: what happened with the feedback functionality. I really liked this and it also showed nicely which members you could trust with your eyes closed and which ones you had to be careful with. Very valuable information. I hope the feedback from the old forum is migrated to a feedback system on this forum too.

For the rest: things look good! It's a matter of getting used to it, but I think you guys did a great job. I already posted an item in the junkyard and this is much less a hassle than before (less fields to fill out).

On the list!

Going to take awhile before this place feels cozy again, but I'm digging the new look including the new RPF logo.

I am hoping the franchise rotating banners are eventually implemented again or something along those lines and I think one of the banners could highlight the full name Replica Prop Forum.

The revised logo was done by our very own Westies14!

Is there anything that can be done to fix old links to specific comments? I have a bunch of currently broken links

At the moment they don't seem to work unless the comment is on page 1, and even then you need to manually add a dash in the url to make it work.

Here is one link I have as an example:
Code:
http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=253252&p=3869972&viewfull=1#post3869972
It redirects to:
Code:
https://www.therpf.com/forums/threads/esb-tfa-lightsaber.253252/#post3869972
That link doesn't go to the specific comment, but it does if I add a dash before the post number:
Code:
https://www.therpf.com/forums/threads/esb-tfa-lightsaber.253252/#post-3869972

The problem is links have the page number in them before the post number, but old links don't get that added to them. A lot of my links go to the 139 page long TFA Graflex Research thread, so it's a bit hard to go find it all again :p

That is a tough one! Let me look into it and see what the redirects will allow. We do have a lot of redirection going on, but that might get a bit sticky.

I seem to have ALOT of adds everywhere. Is that my phone or the new site?

There are the same amount of ads as before, but because the previous iteration of the site was just scaled down on phones, everything was small, including the ads. Now, the ads are inline and regular size which makes them seem more prominent.

Yes, noted this too. I usually browse the forum on my desktop but checked last night on the iPad as well just to see how things look there and it's completely unreadable because of all the ad popups. Everything else looks really nice and there are a LOT of nice new additions but if I have to seriously complain about one things it's be all those ad popups! Never saw actual popups on the iPad before but now there's always one that fills the top part of the screen (aside from all of them appearing larger now).

I see other members have the premium membership tag still, but mine seem to be gone, is there an issue with my subscription or just a migration issue ?
Thanks !

The “watched threads” button is in the top bar under the RPF logo. Mine carried over from ones that I have watched over the past years I’ve been here.

Ahh that’s why I couldn’t find it, on phones it’s shoved into this “...” icon.

Great job Art Andrews and the team!

Sorry to add to the list, but I seem to be missing my Premium Membership and my post count has dropped a bit.

Also, did this migrate in any way fix the Photobucket dilemma, or as that just a lost cause now?

Cheers,
T.

Is there any way to change "Conversations"? When I do a run, I used send payment info in a PM to 10 members at once. If someone had a question, it would only come back to me. Now that question goes to all 10 people I originally sent the PM to. I just don't want to clog other peoples mailbox with specific questions meant just for me. I'm sure the answer will be "don't send to 10 people at once".

Borrowing this pic, if you click the highlighted button it will oped a list of sub forums, works just like the old drop down but requires a manual click.

However, that lacks the ease and the prominent reminder that the site is much bigger than the one specific area you're in. The simple menu bar at the top was a constant reminder that there is much more to the RPF and give you an easy way to navigate quickly... no hunting for drop downs, no weird symbols. The site should be easy for first time users and the old faithful alike and that menu bar was an invitation to explore the RPF.

We are still having a bit of an issue with this. Try it now.

On another note: The site appears to be very slow (or even non-functional) on Firefox, PC. I tried to write this reply in it, but is just wouldn't work. The "loading" animation bars of the site just kept going. When I finally managed to open the "embed media" window, it refused to close even though I saw it pasting the embed code in the message. (This was written on Chrome, PC.)

Congrats to Art and the RPF team for a successful transition! I look forward to exploring the forum's new features.

Some initial feedback:

  • I would echo the ad comment. I'm on iOS and it's difficult to read with various ads everywhere...
  • Are we not able to edit profile information at this time? Or am I just being dense and completely overlooking something...? Update - As I suspected, user error...

Hmmmm, went to one of my project runs to update the photos. Noticed the original images (BBCode links from Imgur) have become Attachments and have piled up at the end of the OP. I added the new images in the editor (again BBCode links from Imgur) and deleted the previous [IMAGE] codes. When I clicked save, the new links became attachments. I assume this is an upgrade that will prevent the whole Photobucket dilemma from reoccurring? Linked images become hosted on the RPF site? Which is cool of course, except ALL attachments (current and previously deleted pics) have piled up at the end of the OP...
