we gotta get more people on board this like system!

ive made some quality posts lol i dont wanna be new anymore lol

So... the migration we just went through was ENORMOUS and very painful, but we actually moved to an OLDER version of the new software (all that was possible) and still have another migration (more of an upgrade) left to go. My hope is that we can do that before the end of the year. Why does this matter? The LIKES system is more powerful and more apparent in the new software and should make it even easier to get/give likes. They even have the Emoji reactions now for likes so you can be even more descriptive... but that is a little ways off. Still have to get the last two major hurdles of this migration done.

The current Trophies don’t allow for anyone to reach Legendary status. Looks like we’re a ways away from needing to worry about that though.

We only have a base set of trophies in place at the moment. There are some add-ons that will allow for more actions to be counted. We just haven't put them in place yet.

Well he is a great member. I would have thought Michael Bergeron would have broken that goal as well.

This is clearly where we need to add more to the Trophies system. We don't currently give credit for more than 5000 posts, but we have a lot of people with well over that, and someone like Michael Bergeron with an astounding 20k+. Those things need to be credited! Again, something we are going to have to play with as we move forward.

Totally understand your POV on this. It is something new and at the moment it does seem odd and uncomfortable. Previously we all used two metrics to evaluate someone so at some level you were doing a bit of mental gymnastics in your head to see if you felt the time someone had been here vs the posts they had created made them a valuable or trustworthy member. I hope that over time, you will grow to have trust in the trophy system and that number will instantly provide the trust/no trust evaluation for you. Keep in mind, during this transitional time, you can click on someone's Trophy point count and see why they have the points they have. You can also click on their avatar and see a quick summary of all of their stats... but again, I hope, as time goes on, we will all feel more comfortable with trusting the trophy points.

Honestly my problem may be more with the wording of "Trophy Points" than the system itself. I mean ultimately the "point" of the "points" (;)) is to provide an easy way to evalulate the contributions of other members to the site, and calling them "Trophies" makes it sound a bit frivolous, or is it just me?

I think that calling them "Community Points" or something would reflect their purpose better, but I realise i'm being super nitpicky now.

As this is a built-in feature (we didn't name them), it would be a pain to find all the references and change them (although I don't disagree with you). Once we move to the latest version of the software, I'll take a look.

I have doubts about this one, but I'll ask anyway.

Will it ever be possible to MOVE the specific forums AROUND but for ME ONLY?
I would like Project Runs to be moved up to the spot under Replica Props.
I can see that the system thinks this is possible...…..if I simply click and hold on "Project Runs", the words Project Runs attaches to my mouse and starts floating around with my mouse. But, everywhere I try to drag it, it has a circle with a line through it. (can't move HERE)
It looks like the system could support such an action, but just isn't set up that way.

I've never worked with XenForo, but having worked with other forum software packages, I can say that the physical layout is most likely (around 99.99999% certain) set in proverbial stone by the admins and cannot be adjusted on the fly to suit the individual user.

If the forums themselves were a downloaded software package, then I could see the process being available to you, but since it's a website that ability is not plausible. At least, not yet anyway.

Think of it like a car. Sure you can adjust what channels are programmed into your radio or set the speed of the wiper blades, but the physical location of the radio and the wiper controls are fixed and cannot be moved.

I don't know, but doubtful. There is nothing built into the software to do this and that would add a number of fields into the DB to keep up with everyone's choices. Cool idea, but actual implementation is very unlikely. :(

If you are asking what the breaks are for the User Title Ladder, here they are:

New Member 0-49

Jr Member 50 - 99

Member 100-199

Active Member 200-499

Well-Known Member 500-999

Sr Member 1000-1999

Master Member 2000-4999

Legendary Member 5000+

At the moment, we have ONE member who has broken 1500 points, alienscollection.com... over 5000 likes. Crazy good stuff!

lol, thanks Art! Is this something that goes where it reads "Sr. Member?" Woo hoo!

How is that metric attained, if I may ask?

I mean, I haven't been here all that long, but I have Senior Member status.

Click on your trophy points number in your post. It will show you your awards. You are a great example of why trophy points are important. You have only been a member for 6 years, but you have contributed a tremendous amount in that time.

Thanks. I was just hoping, when I saw that you could pick up the forum name. Something to hope for in the future.
