This is often associated with old cookies. I'd strongly encourage you to delete any old cookies you have for therpf.com AND make sure you check the box for "stay logged in" when you login.

I cleared all the cookies Art. It worked first couple of times. and I always chek the stay logged In box. Now It's periodically keeping me logged In. Appreciate the advice. Not that big of a deal for me now

With the new software implementation, I am sure the server is overloaded with email notices right now. There are no settings for this. Let me know if you continue to get notices hours afterwards. I am currently receiving notices almost instantly.
I do still continue to get alerts consistently 3-4 hours late. For instance, someone in the UK messaged me this morning to confirm my paypal address and I just now got the email alert for it. I try to have a very quick response time to be respectful of the time differences so having a closer to real-time notification would be very helpful here.
Thanks again for all of your continued hard work, I know all to well it's a lot more than most people realize. Your patience in responding to all of these "gimme's" is noticed and appreciated.

Might also have something to do with the email servers.. and how they have their white/black and grey lists set up... which can delay delivery from hours up to days even.. (depending on the retry settings..and timeout settings..etc)

Just worked through something similar at my job and all recipients that had .edu email addresses.. (hours late delivery/notifications)

Need quicklinks to other forums from different forums...

Click this at the top right or bottom right of each page.

Right now, when you visit the Junkyard page, the full sized main picture of each listing loads rather than thumbnails of each. Any chance of making it so only thumbnails load to reduce data suck and increase page load speed?

Art. Quick question. I’ve noticed when we link photos now by url. When you go and edit the posts they are titled as “attached” in the code

Does this now mean, every photo uploaded/linked to therpf is hosted on therpf server?

So we don’t have to worry about 3rd party image hosting sites going down, or changing their protocols and making our photos dead linked, like our friends are photofucket did to us?

That is correct. Let me look though.. it should show the actual photo... not "attachment." Can you send me a link to a post with that in it?

Good call. Adding this to the list.

Are you aware that by using the style chooser in the bottom left corner of the website, you can reset the whole site to a non "RPF corporate identity" look? You'll even loose the top logo, which can't be what you want... Nevertheless maybe this style selection is the key to a darkmode / RPF retro design? :)

I must say, that the readability of the new site is far worse than before, mainly because there's no color difference / boundary between ads or screenshots - same goes for the tiny line separating different posts. I guess this could be changed by minimal corrections to the background color...
What I also noticed is the new design always shows the images in full, while these were thumbnails in the past... This comes down to personal preference in the end, but in my opinion this also helped a lot with readability. Any chance to add a preference setting for this?
Halifax post above is an excellent example for both, btw.

Regarding the new RPF design, from a perfectionist point of view some of the colors does not really fit IMO... E.g. the "upload file" button down below when posting. Never noticed this on the old site... Same goes with the style of the premium banners next to the avatars, these don't match the overall minimalistic design. Might seem pretty crazy to mention these details, but they will add up to how much you like a website or not.

The whole site is way faster now, sadly most of this performance upgrade is compensated by the time lost due to the worse readability and the missing top navigation bar... Just my thoughts, maybe some will find their way into further improvements! ;)

When clicking on a category like Replica Props, it shows unread thread in BOLD and read threads in regular.

Is there a way to improve this so that the difference is more noticeable ? I have trouble telling them apart, since they kinda run together.

Thanks for the heads up. We still had the default style enabled... YIKES! Off now.

We are taking a look at the separators as a number of people have talked about them, but it is low on the list.

We will look at the thumbnail thing soon (on the list.)

We can look at some of the colors as well... again, some of these more nuanced aesthetics are taking a backseat to us finalizing the last of the import issues. Once we are completely settled on the data, we will take a deeper dive on UI/UX.

I haven't read everything, but

The 'remember me' option is not working for me. I'm having to login manually every time i open a new browser (i.e. every day or when i hit the close button by accident and have to restart the broswer, etc).

It's not my settings as it was fine at the old site and everything else i do from here.

Question: Is the Junkyard now supposed to be visible to the general public and non-members? I opened up a private window to test and while the Off-Topic/Premium forums are hidden, the whole Junkyard section is still readable.

I always thought it was 'readable'... but you couldnt POST in there unless you were Premium?
