thanks Art.
One thing I just noticed, we don't see the country of someone on the left of each post, this is something that I thought was very important when buying or selling to someone. You don't even see it in the junkyard infos, you have to click on the name of the person.

Click on their avatar and their location pops up in the User Profile overlay.

Sorry man but not digging the new site. Not only is it drab and boring, but it seems as though most of the functionality of the old site is gone as well. I know everyone is trying to go o the mobile side of things, but Im pretty sure most of us use a desktop to navigate this site. Not only that, but I feel less of a member of the community without having my post count, location etc. Is there a way to turn those on so people can see without having to click my profile?

^ ditto!

update the avatar section to pull in a few variables/rows of data Looking at things now.. you know literally nothing of a person/poster with more effort.

Plus....I cant move past having ads being injected directly in my posts! That is a HUGE intrusion.. and kills the content/text. All the other stuff is more of a learning curve.. or re-learning how to use the (new) site.

I mean we already have side bar ads... top ads.. bottom ads.. after initial post ads...... why this injection ad? I get it... you want money. But at the cost of the sites usability? And members input? When/where does it stop?

I mean You make a new thread.. you have the top and bottom ads.. ... being the first post.. you get an ad AFTER it.. then you sometimes get an ad at the bottom of your post.. and now injection of ads INSIDE the text of your post? (seriously):mad:

Thats 2 ads in one post.. along with the top, bottom ads... not to mention anyone else who posts/replies.... INSANE.

The 'new site' was just a push for more money in the end? (unfortunately.. thats kinda what it feels like to me at least) :(

yeah it's what I said, but it's not as obvious. for me this is an information that could even be displayed on the junkyard icon directly, that way you can directly see if it's in US, Europe... It maybe doesn't seem super important for someone is US, but for us in Europe, this helps you figuring if the shipping cost and taxes would be acceptable.
thanks :)

. Yes.... we spent the last two years working on this just to insert an ad inline...

You know I have been a very advocate user and supporter of tapatalk since 2011. I even bought every version that has come out

I have always defended it when others have talked bad about it, I have never had a issue with it and found it’s ease of file upload easier

BUT I have been fooling around with this new mobile friendly version of therpf today

And I gotta say I love it!! It took about 10 minutes to get the new feel, but you can upload photos and embed videos with ease

In real life I hate change, abosutely hate it. But usually when something does change it’s not as bad as I think it will be, and this is another case

When I first learned about the new upgrade and the loss of tapatalk I was pissed. Been using that app for the last 7 years.. but now with playing with this new version of the site I love it!! It’s great! I’m not disappointed at all

One real big plus is the colors, tapatalk I was limited to that orange screen, now boy oh boy what a difference

So much easier, which I can’t believe I am saying

I just want to thank everyone involved making this upgrade possible. You guys weren’t lying, it’s damn impressive!

Thank you, my life is now back together

Hey Art,

I can’t access my inbox from my mobile. Any idea?

Sir, you have made my whole day. I hated the use of Tapatalk (because it was so invasive and literally took over so many things), but obviously recognized that we NEEDED something like that. My greatest worry was that people like you (heavy Tapatalk users) MIGHT feel that this was a step backwards, instead of forwards. Trust me... in the next few months, it is going to get EVEN better for mobile!

While it was nice to get an upgrade, I do not like the layout at all.

All I see is a white page with posts adds and topics and avatars just thrown in the middle with nothing to differentiate them from it all and it seems to blend together into one mass. It kinda hurts my eyes. But Im sure its because its new and I will get use to it. Adds are placed right in the middle of posts it seems.

Edit: Im looking at the desktop version right now. and just looked at the mobile version to see what the difference is. It surely is better then the previous mobile version by a long shot but its not that much better then the new desktop version. A white page with plain text and a picture thrown in for avatar.

I also noticed that while im using my inbox on mobile every post from a conversation in my inbox has been converted to a separate conversation. So my inbox reads

Actually its also on the desktop site too.

There is no outbox or sent, its all place in "inbox" annd each posts is listed as a separate conversation

Adds have not bothered me till now. I did not have any reason to block them or anything. Now not only do they butt in posts they also duplicate. I saw the same add in a post and the the same one right below it.

Can message me screencaps of this so I can take a look?

Its still plain jane with plain text, and it all blends together still with the white background and the plain text.

I will agree that the missing member info made the site feel cheap.
