We Come in Peace - Mars Attacks Kid's costume

It's not 100% completed just yet, but I thought I would show it off anyway since my son just got 2nd place in a local costume contest in my town. Ever since my boy first watched Mars Attacks, roughly a year ago, he has been asking me to make a Martian Ambassador costume for him.


So here it is, for now:

The Wicked Witch of the West won first prize. The contest was to dress up like an old "black & white" monster from the 50's-60's horror movies.

Well the movie Mars Attacks was based off the Topps Trading Card Series of the same name from the 50's. Plus the festival we were at were playing martian movies from the 50's. So they let my son enter because he was "cute" when all was said and done. :lol


Oh I didn't make the head/mask, I searched ebay for about 10 months trying to buy the mask from the 90's. I lucked out since this one was in great shape with no signs of drying out or damage. I'm a seamstress, not a prop builder though sometimes I wish I could do both.
