I Had to put down everything that I was working on for this. I know you all have seen it by now. The Iron Man 2 War Machine. Its a thing of beauty. It's big, bulky, and sexy just like me  . I feel that its tankish look will be perfect for me just Like the Iron Man Heavy Artillery was.

I'm also going to re due some of my Heavy Artillery parts with some of the War Machine parts. If some of you guys dont know what is the Heavy Artillery. It was my last Iron Man suit.

This is what I got so far. It's only the front part of the chest. It's a small update but it will give you an Idea of how mighty this thing will look. I'm Taking my time on this suit. I want it to look 100% to the movie.

As you can see This Suit will be huge. I what to give it that bulletproof look.

Just Look how big it is when compared to the front chest of the Iron Man Heavy Artillery

I Like the way its coming out. I will work on it some more today. I hope to put up some more updates later on tonight

You are definitely THE Cardboard King! It would be sick to see what you could do with all the right tools! Looks great!

Good work so far, with a tank like armor for war machine, Cardboard is a good choice without all the expense of huge amounts of clay for sculpting and what not.

You should check out my War Machine Helmet as well if you haven't already,
http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=76566 . I should be pulling the first cast off this weekend.

I also meant to ask how your Extremis(SP?) helmet sculpt was going, but I'm sure its on the back burner now with the War Machine armor being built. That helmet was looking pretty tight!

Can't wait to see your progress on this your heavy Armor looks awesome, ever thought about doing a Hulk buster?

I was working on my war machine to night. I need to make the space for my head between the two missile pods bigger. I love how big this chest is. It really looks like armor.

Ok everybody. My War Machine Chest plate is done. I wont do the back right away, because I need better pix of where and how the Gatling gun attach to the armor. So I think I will Wait for the Super bowl Trailer or for the toy. While I wait I will get started on the arms and shoulders starting today.

Here are the update pix.

I know I'm still a big guy but I have been losing weight. I want to look good in my costumes :D

Sean,

Lookin great! since you build the base out of thick cardboard and foamboard, you only have to brush on the fiberglass with no re-inforcement underneath, correct? I am interested in trying this technique for parts of my iron man and war machine. Thanks.

Your name do justice to your skills, obviusly if there is any Cardboard King...

THIS IS YOU!!!!:love

Yes I agree very nice work. Is this based off Juice's model? I might have a go at War Machine after I'm done with my Ironman. :cool

A lot of the time I bondo before I fiberglass. It makes it hold a lot better and It stronger that way. If I don't bondo first. I would brush on like 3 coats of fiberglass. Its as good as the bondo, fiberglass combo.

If you use the foam board, tape or bondo the ends of the board so the fiberglass dont get in a eat away the foam.

I use fiberglass mat on the inside only if two parts of the costume looks like it wont hold with hot glue alone.

Tough process, bondo is more flexible then poly resins that stuff just chips and cracks, so I'd say you got the right idea, as much work as the bondo and card borad is you should look into high impact ABS sheeting you could cut out the shapes and glue all the parts together or heat and curve parts in the same way it's cheaper with less material stages in materials to use also very durable and light weight and weather resistant, just something you might be interested in trying, but so far it looks like the war machine reference, til they put out some better pics will be hard to see if the actual movie suit looks any different which is frustrating.

I purchased sheets of high impact ABS plastic about 4 months ago and I was going to try and use Sean's same technique as a base with foamboard, then cover with the plastic, bondo the edges, blend, and sand.
