I don't think that cat is screen accurate (J/k, couldn't help but make the joke).

I'm also working on a Walking Dead costume for Halloween. My friend is going to be Rick and I had thought about doing a regular old zombie to go along with him. That was until I found a sheriff shirt and pants at a thrift store yesterday! So, I'm going to go as Leon Bassett, the sheriff walker Rick blasts in episode 1.
Here's his wiki Leon Basset (TV Series) - Walking Dead Wiki
I got a set of patches coming from eBay and will likely be ordering the CostumeBase badge/collar pin combo soon. I'll be doing the painting mod to the badge like PunisherNC did. Just need to find the belt/accessories and name badge and I'm good to go. Found a great YouTube video of some makeup techniques.

It looks like a normal swivel holster that was modified to fit that revolver. In the real world, no one carries one with a 6" barrel... I got a decent look at it in a scene or two and it looks like they cut off the end so that the barrel protrudes a couple of inches. "Normal" holsters are closed on the bottom... well, with a small hole for drainage, but the barrel should not stick out...
What the revolver your using..I can't make it out but it looks like a S&W model 3Few updates on my Rick. Managed to bloody up the shirt a bit more for a night out at my local Zombie themed club. Looks a lot better and we were fortunate enough to travel in style thanks to my mate who owns a police car

Before you paint the badge put it in a vice or use some pliers to bend the point's work a little bit at a time because the metal is weak. I was the first to do the mod, check back in the posts. I like to think that PunisherNC was inspired by mine but that would be impossible as I never posted it until later :lol

I can't thank you guys enough for this thread. I have a quick question about buying the uniform from QuarterMaster: What are you telling them you're buying the uniform for? And, do they seem at all reluctant to sell to a non-law-enforcement officer?
They are just fine to sell to civilians. Keep in mind with the shirt that police uniform shirts are cut to fit over body armor. I ended up ordering a shirt a size smaller and it fit me much better. Your mileage may vary though.
There's no question that the uniforms you guys have put together from QM look GREAT, and that's absolutely what I'm going with. But, when you look at the photos of Rick Grimes, doesn't his uniform appear to be made of sometime like cotton, not the polyester that QM offers?
BTW here I am with Madison Lintz at Dragon*Con... I don't know if I have any good pics of me in my costume...
