Walking Dead Sheriff Uniform

I tried going through looking for the link but couldnt find it, i was just quickly browsing but must have missed it. and no im not looking for a real Python, but i feel like if im accurate on any part of the outfit it should be the gun. so a close to real looking fake gun would be best.

Page 8, post 199. TSD Sports 6-Inch Barrel Spring Powered Airsoft Revolver. It isn't a perfect match because Rick's has wooden grips, I think. But, it's the one most people choose. There's a wood gripped airsoft pistol out there, but it isn't a Python copy. So, you have to decide between the proper grips or the proper gun.

If you do find a suitable "weapon" be sure to share the love!

Akin, what was involved with removing the orange end piece? I know you mention using sandpaper after cutting it off.

I used a little hack saw to remove the protruding orange tip, then the sandpaper to smooth it out. It looks pretty good... mayhap I'll put up some more pics pf the pistol when I get a chance...

Holy cow, they still make those? A modified version of them used to fire .50 paintballs, back in the eighties...

I wouldn't use it myself. Wrong finish, and the wonky, break-action cylinder design... just not realistic enough for me. I look at that and it screams BB GUN at me, and for my costuming use I want something that at least looks the part.

But if it suits your needs, more power to you! I know fully well that I can be a ridiculous perfectionist, especially when it comes to shootin' irons...

This is the gun I recently upgraded to: Viper 6in. Barrel 9MM Blank Firing Revolver Nickel Finish | Blank Firing Guns
Viper-6in.-Barrel-9MM-Blank-Firing-Revolver-Nickel-Finish.jpg

It is SO much nicer than the airsoft I was using. It's all metal and has a realistic heft and look. The grips are wrong, but I'm working on replacing those. True OEM Python wood grips don't quite fit, but I molded the pair I have so I can cut the resin copies down to size, fill the gaps, and give them a painted wood top coat.

Just don't ever load ammunition and fire it at a convention. It's a blank firing pistol, so though it can't fire real ammo, firing off a blank sounds just like a real gun shot and con security (and the local PD) will not be a fan of that AT ALL.

Once I get the grips worked out, I'll post pictures of the finished product. But the metal finish is worth the cost compared to the plastic airsoft. Also, the company I linked to has fantastic customer service and I STRONGLY recommend them.

I must admit, I never gave blank pistols much thought. I used to have some when I was a kid, from the Collector's Armory...

I'd make sure that the piece has the words PROP or BLANK ONLY or something marked clearly on it... if it's all-metal and looks and feels real, somebody checking it might think it's real. I actually got stopped by D*C security twice this year, and they put big ugly blue zip-ties around it... which I cut off the second they were out of sight, but that's another story... the Atlanta cops I posed for pictures with never even asked to examine it...

Before marching in the parade I specifically stopped by D*C security to get it peace bonded. They didn't bat an eye at it, though he did check to make sure it wasn't loaded.

I'm all for peace bonding if it means I can carry my weapons. They could just say no. Hoping that won't be the case with Wizard World in a couple of weeks.

I probably wouldn't ***** about it if the policy were applied uniformly. But if I have to tie up my little revolver when stomtroopers are carrying Stirling submachineguns and MG34 machineguns around without hindrance, I have a problem with it and I will cut the bond as soon as the security guy walks away.

*shrug*

so i went over to my local army navy store today and scored a great shirt! for only $15, it was in the 50% off rack and its the perfect colors, only down side is that its a long sleeve, but a quick trip to a tailor can fix that no problem! its made by Horace Small i checked their site and i couldn't find a matching product but im sure they could make it to order.
