Voltron III

....A Veritech costume would be awesome, never seen that one before. Roy Focker FTW.

I tried that once, made the chest out of cardboard, but it got so messed up, I trashed it, I may try and do it again since this Voltron has inspired me. :thumbsup

I almost forgot about this thread. Awesome work! Love seeing this come to fruition!

maybe ill make the head first on the veritech and see how that comes out. Just not too keen on having the nosecone of a f-14 in my groin...

F-14 Nose cone, AKA; 'The cup of doom!!!' "Hi guys!" *Trip, land's on knees* "Aughhhhhh!!!!" "What's wrong bro." "No...nose cone..... In the groin....." RIP XD That would suck.

That's the problem with making a Veritech costume, at least a VF-1, the body shape of a VF-1 battroid doesn't really accommodate a human very well. Part of the problem is that unlike a lot of other robot designs the VF-1 doesn't have any hips like Voltron or even Gundams do, the legs just stick out from a narrow nose cone. I don't know if any of the other Veritech models are any better but a VF from Macross Plus, 7, or Frontier might be more accommodating although it may not have the cool factor/nostalgia.

ok, test run...

a lens would str8n out the top visor portion...

i do agree with the NON HIPS issue, but i can probably do away with that, by slightly re-designing the frame/posture to accommodate real life.

Not a bad start but you'll need to make the chin rounder and pointier for a VF-1S and the face itself is flatter. Anyhow, if you're seriously pursuing this maybe you should start a new thread for it, I'd love to see a VF-1 "costume".

well Mr. 7602, (pretty sure I met you in Pasadena a few years back). :D

it was fun building it.

I think I'm going to have to either redo the head, as I'm not happy with it, or build a new one.

holy crap, I really wish I could make things like that, I've always wanted cyclone armor from Robotech, since I was like 10 or 9

In fact, Trek, it looks like this toy.

Sadly, since I got it at 6 or 7 years old, it's missing parts and beat up, I don't have any of the missiles, one of the top ears are missing on the head, as you can see, the cover for the right thigh is broken, and the arm's don't stay in properly, they keep falling out as they just barely hang on. :confused Wish I had the missing parts, ah well, I had fun with it as a kid, and now i will desplay it with my model cars, dead space toy, FFVII Cloud toy, and swords, etc. I wonder if you can even find the plastic one still, or if they are all metal now.
