Voltron III

Hello all.

My name is jay, and I am looking for feedback on my voltron costume.

Here goes!

I started with cardboard mock-ups, and switch to a similar type of foam used here.

Wings

I have since cut the body down and made the belt area separate

of course once its all done, i will probably use some silicone caulking mixed with water to fill in some of the gaps. but only some.

Ive done some painting test on scarp pieces. all is well so far, but its gonna be hard to achieve the gloss look im gonna go for. might seal each coat with gloss overcoat-clear.

started the legs today.

the one with the fins is obviously the yellow lion, and the other is the blue one.

when standing these come up slightly higher than my knees. once i get the body of these two down ill do the feet.=, which should be separate from the rest.

EDIT

in retrospect these might make me look too squat. might have to slice out the middle of those and make them thinner overall.

we shall see.

cut out about 3 inches from the middle of this leg (#5) and added more of the exterior bits.

started the feet.

gotta figure out where to put the legs form the blue and yellow lions. prolly make something i can attatch to the back of my heels or something.

anyone have any ideas?

so painting and forming updates...

more painting. not done yet. still have to clean up some lines and start weathering it.

test fitting...

I'm really digging this. Have you considered painting the inside of the lion's mouth's black and wear black gloves to help hide your hands?
