Villains Cast in new Batman Movie: "The Dark Knight Rises"

RW is awesome forever as he bought one of the original 144 Astronauts in Trouble T-shirts from me and wished me luck. I was able to turn him on to and sell him his first Transmetropolitan at Comix Experience, so I feel I sort of returned the favor. :)

That is a great story, Larry:thumbsup

Gordon-Levitt Joins Dark Knight Rises - Movies News at IGN

He's long been rumored to be joining the cast of The Dark Knight Rises and now it appears to be true: Joseph Gordon-Levitt is in talks to play an unspecified role in the Bat-sequel.

"I'm not sure what role he'll play, but I'm told that he will be in the movie when Nolan starts production this spring," according to Deadline. He will segue to the film after wrapping Looper.

I wonder if he's going to play a small role as the Joker locked up in Arkham since he has a similar facial structure to Heath Ledger. I'd really like to see that, even though I know Nolan has said time and time again that he's not going to bring the character back. =(

Interesting actor choices to add to the mix.

I could certainly see Gordon-Levitt as taking up the helm of the Joker from Ledger, because of the resemblance. It'd be a difficult role to take over, but from what I've seen of his acting abilities, I think he could do it.

Could also be the Boy Wonder. :lol

JGL kinda looks like a young Bale. Hmm. I could not see him in the Hugo Strange role, but could see him as the Joker, or dare I say it...Dick Grayson. Considering Nolan's distaste for the Robin character, if it is Dick Grayson...would likely be at the films ending. I would love to see him play...AZRAEL!

Actually, they're combining the Riddler, the Joker, and Robin into one character: Ridokin, who will be played by JGL.

that is awesome...i like tom hardy and jgl...both amazing actors....

my guess he will play harvey bullock or a new district attorney.....

he will make the perfect riddler though, but too many villains already...and way too old to be robin

That and Nolan said back in October there'd be no Riddler

But that was in October. You never know, he may have changed his mind. And, correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't he also said there wasn't going to be Selina Kyle/Catwoman once?

I've liked both of Nolan Batman films so far but I really hope he doesn't clutter this new one up with to many characters.

As far as I know the only statements Nolan made regarding the next movie were no Riddler, no Mr. Freeze, no recasting the Joker, and that using Robin would be silly.

Is Hugo Strange def. out as a villain? How about if JGL is cast as him, Bane goes looking for Batman and finds JGL in the Batman suit and breaks his back instead?

two dead district attorneys.......makes perfect sense that he will be the new District attorney...or another cop

or maybe

he is the new crime boss like falcone jr.....and bane is his bodyguard or partner

Dude...I don't think that Hugo Strange has been ruled out, and there could still be hope for Robin Williams to be cast as Hugo Strange. This character has Robin Williams written all over it. Especially with the evil Amish look.

we have to remember though that Nolan's versions of characters are very different than what we are used to seeing...

No kidding. How many people thought that Heath Ledger would make a fantastic Joker or the disapproval when the viral image of "Crow Joker" was released? In Nolan we Trust.

Oh, and to further add...Tom Hardy does not have the size of Bane or looks like he's from South America. So Nolan can change it to fit his universe.
