Anyone have any idea how large the real painting was?

Now, lets talk about canvas again... I cant imagine how it looks. If I order here theres still a wooden frame behind the canvas, so I can hang it on the wall... If I order a poster, Ive got no frame, I must work something out... But I can print a poster in that size like on Hotshots pic. But, if I think about... my favourite is canvas... But I get no canvas in this size, only a little bit smaller, so I think I have to get the canvas from you, rhett...

On your photo the picture is like it comes from the printer, or is something like a frame behind the canvas?!? These canvas is sometimes stapled on wooden slats. I want to have something like this, because its 3 dimensional and will ook better, I think... So, is there a frame around the vigo picture, or is it just the painting with no tolerance frame... ?!?

Questions, question... Any idea, when youre ready to take orders, Rhett?!?
 
maybe I missed where it was talked about - but how much would something like that cost and where can it be done???

How this happens, is that it's printed out on the canvas, the type you'd paint on, and is NOT on a wood frame. The pic you see me in fornt of is straight from the printer, and is nailed to the wall. There'sa 1/4 of an inch around it, which you'll use to glue/nail/staple it to a wood frame.

So, the canvas it's printed on is REAL textured canvas, and has a white edge for mounting.

Also, very importantly, the ink can handle painting, varnishing, etc. without running. We'll go over this more as the tutorial gets put together!

there is NO frame behind it, just the canvas, most likely because there is NO way to affordably ship a 8 x 5 foot painting. i dont think most places would ship something that large, and you could find a place that actually would, the cost would far outweigh the benefit

Thats true, but I thought maybe on Rhett's picture there is a wooden frame behind. It will look better in every case I think... But I hope that I can handle that by myself...

A very nice gentleman who happens to be a member here has shared a photo with me that MAY help create an even better print file. he may chime in here.

Well that pic is the actual original in the new ILM offices I am told.

I sent it to Ramiel who has already done an AMAZING workup. If it's too late to have a look at it Hotshot fairenough. But it might be wise to take a pause to compare the workups?

That pic of you Hotshot is fan bloody tastic! lol

Thats true. Is there is a better version, I would prefer this one, I think everyone can wait few days longer for his print, if the final result is better than the actual. Just my 2 cents...
 
Did you get the link for Ramiel's version Hotshot? I didn't mean to tag your work either. The version you have got is AWESOME!!!!

I've got the gigantic Ramiel version too (printer has both too) but I think we should let folks take one more crack at!

Can't beleive this thread is still this much fun after a week!!!
