Vigo the Carpatian

wow, ive been following t his thread for the past few days, waiting in anticipation and showing it to my girlfriend, who FINALLY agreed to let me get one and hang this huge painting in our house, after quite a bit of pleading:lol

so i went to measure my wall, to see where i could hang it, and my ceilings are only 7 and a half feet high :cry

is there any chance youll be doing a slightly scaled down version? say 6, or 7 feet high instead of 8?

ditto i would like a smaller one to

Can we get a photo of you standing in front of it? Seeing photos is cool but seeing a person standing in front of it really lets the scale of it pop and impress :)

Or just a coke can :)
Maybe someone should make a metal plaque with:

On a mountain of skulls, in a castle of pain,
I sat on a throne of blood.
What was, will be; what is, will be no more.
Now is the season of evil.
I, Vigo, the Scourge of Carpathia, the Sorrow of Moldavia - - - COMMAND YOU."

Or with LEDs coming as far as they have, something rigged up in the back to make the eyes glow. Occasionally. :love

No. I think it was one of the fettucinis.

How did I miss this thread? VIGO... one of my favorite all-time movie paintings. :thumbsup

Destroy me! Okay. Destroy me! I've worked with better. But not many.:lol

EDIT:
I've read all 11 pages. So where's the original?

:( I'd love to see a photo of the full sized replica with someone in front of it. I want to see how big it looks.
ditto... i'm curious to see how soft the image looks when blown up and printed that large on canvas.

i dig the glowing eyes idea. this will be halloween party GOLD! :lol

Yea . .um . . .I posted a pic of it from 1 inch away . . .that shoulda told you what you needed to know! :p

From post #96
Zoomed in as far as it can go (3 ft away, 3.6X zoom)

One thing to keep in mind that even if it looks kinda blocky on a monitor, printing tends to smooth it out to the good looking skull you see above. Sure, higher res is better but it's not the be all, end all, gotta have it all defining factor.

having something like a soda can or a person in front of the painting would give us a better reference of size and detail in the print. with nothing in the image to compare, it's hard to tell if the softness is caused by focus, hand shake, print quality, etc. ;)

ive been messing around with ramiels huge version, and the much clearer headshot posted back on the first or second page, and we are missing A LOT of detail, but ive managed to match up the 2 shots pretty closely, and gotten all of the detail back in the face, where it really matters the most, ill continue to play with it and see what i can come up with

Somene should do a 20MB Version, this is the size my printer can handle...

So, which file should I take now to print it? Or wait if somebody releases a new file?!?

This gets more complicated with every different file...

Okay in all honesty I just want to see some point of size reference in a photo of the printed full sized product. All the photos of the first print are so severely cropped it doesn't really give you a good idea of the size. Sure we can all go and measure out the size and all, but to actually see it compared to the scale of a actual person or item is much more impressive.
