VIDEO GAME item Replicas

Except maybe Link's Master Sword and Hylian Shield from the Legend of Zelda games.

Definitely. The Master Sword has been a staple of gaming for god knows how many years.

I happened to pick up a resin version of a Master Sword off ebay a few weeks ago. Unlike most of the (crap) ones on ebay, this one is actually very accurate to the design of the sword used in Twilight Princess (I have a striking suspicion that it was made by a member here =P).

I can't wait to get started on working on it. There are a few bubbles I need to fill and I want to try and even out/sand down some of the blade so that the support rods running through it aren't visible (they bulge out a tiny bit) before I start painting. I just need to get off my butt and do it.

That is definitely the best master sword I've seen (y)thumbsup:thumbsup

I think that the cave troll hammer from LOTR was the only thing those movies had going for them :lol G17RDY you nailed it (y)thumbsup:thumbsup really nice work on that.

I like hearing that people like my items, there is nothing worse than making something you think is really cool and then not find anyone to appreciate it. I did this one in 8th inch ABS and it just didn't grab all the detail and after being formed the ABS gets very brittle. I'm very interested in that two part expandable foam stuff you get in paint cans, you see them use it on mythbusters all the time. If I could get a hold of some of that stuff and get some experience with it, I'd love to do a run of these in a thinner plastic with a nice piece of rigid down the middle, but I don't know when that's going to happen.

It would be really cool if someone here would do a nice tutorial on that stuff, maybe do one on how to fill something with out blowing it up or blowing all the detail out. Those guys over at cushman paintball do a lot of work with that stuff but they don't seem to want to be friendly and share their techniques.

I have a freind that uses GreatStuff(The expanding foam) to build all kinds of stuff. I beleive he does a layout on corrogated sign plastic, then sprays the foam on in a rough shape, carves it up, then lays fiberglass on top.

This is him this past Halloween as Balsac from Gwar. He made the battle axe using the above method and most of the hard parts of his costume were made in a similar fashion(I am trying to get him to join up)

That picture does not do proper justice.

I had to leave before the show was over :cry

I think I would have to get one if you made the wrench, man! Some pics I've found:

I'm currently working on a Kilowog costume (green lantern) and was thinking about using the muscle suit for a Captain Qwark costume as well...

And great job on the keyblade!

I had, with my dad's help made a replica Master Sword. I was like 9 or something like that, and being a kid, I played with it a lot. The blade finally snapped off one day at the hilt, which was the weakest point. The blade and handle were one piece while the hilt was a separate piece. It wasn't an exact replica, but it was very close. I fixed the hilt and handle to make it look like the Master Sword from the Wind Waker, which turned out a whole lot better. I wish I had taken pictures, but I was a little dummy.:lol

Since ya'll on the subject of replica video game swords, I ran across a cutlery booth at last year's FX (or megacon?) in Orlando. They had this sword, apparently from world of warcraft, not sure, but it was massive lol

Also, I aparently was the only person able to weild this thing with one hand :lol

I've gotten my hands on one of the better Master Swords and a playable Ocarina of time. Although that resin one is more accurate.

But I want some of the other stuff from the Zelda verse. Like a hookshot, Four Sword, a brass cast triforce, Resin Rupees, Blue Candle,

And the Magic sword as seen on the cartridge of Zelda Two.

Yeah, I think sideshow is distributing these, made by Museum Replicas (http://www.sideshowtoy.com/?page_id=4489&sku=900778). The blade wasn't metal was it? based on the description, it seemed like it was some type of dense foam or something

Nope, this is not the sideshow version. The one I'm holding in the picture is all metal, nothing foam or rubber :lol I remember them wanting like $800 for one too.

Thing easily weighed just under what my Tuba would if it were turned into a sword :lol

Is that the sword from south park ?

I don't play video games, but agree the prop items look fantastic. I still didn't feel a strong urge to own any of them.

Until I saw the mirror of twilight from Twilight Princess. o_O

How big is this supposed to be?

Er...if memory serves, roughly the size of one of those big yard trampolines.

For instance, this is an awful picture, but the quickest I could find. The circular hole in the center of that portal was once the Mirror of Twilight.

Is that the sword from south park ?

no, the sword in south park was "the sword of a thousand truths"

this is "frostmourne" the legendary sword taken up by Arthas as he became the lich king, the mail character in warcraft 3, and main villian currently in newest WoW expansion, Wrath of the Lich King
