VH-1 Classic will be changing to Mtv-Classic on August 1st

I can wait. They're going to get rid of the 80s videos and replace it with road rules and other trash. VH1 Classic was the one refuge from rap music rock and metal fans had left, i guarantee they're not going to show much involving the first decade of MTV, it's all going to be terrible 90s music. Last night they had a No Doubt concert of all things.

I used to watch VH1 classic until we got High Def, then stopped because for whatever reason they don't have a high def version of that channel

I hate watching standard def channels and refuse to tune into them out of principal now

I usually tune into Palladia (rebranded MTV Live earlier this year)

Now i'll just have to stick to youtube for 80s videos. Damn viacom and them catering to millenials.

Vice got rid of the history channel with all the history on it.
Now now MTV takes over the classic music channel with all the classic music on it.!!!!!!!

So far this morning it was nothing but garbage from 1999-2000 including 3 videos from Aguilara. I didn't like her 20 years ago and I don't like her now so this channel is now a total wash. Vice owns history channel? I thought Discovery Communications still owned it, the learning channel, and A&E all of which have gone to hell in the last 20 years.

History channel 2 the one that actually had history on it at least half the time . is no more and the channel it was using was giving to vice for there new channel .

The history channel is still around churning out pawn stars and american pickers and realty shows where you might see something old so it counts as history I guess. But now Smithsonian and American hero channel are the only channels with any history based shows on at all. And 90% of those are WW2 .

I enjoyed watching the classics Unplugged episodes yesterday. I wish they would have made their focus the 80s.

I tried again last night only to get hit in the face by a Missy Elliot video. It's like this channel knows what i hate and puts it on right as I click. I wish a company would start channels for music videos of different genres so you can just tune in to those, our digital package offers it for music so videos can't be that much harder to do. We've got like 20 music only stations in the 900 channels.

hoorah, more geordie shore, ex on the beach and other RL shows about teenagers getting **** drunk and having sex.............:thumbsdown

I was thinking they would focus more on the 80's. I would love to see a classic 80's MTV station.
I'd love to actually see a classic 80's Nichelodeon station playing "You Can't do that on Television". :lol

Well they're showing music videos but it's all crap from about 1999 onward, it's not even the early to mid 90s stuff. I've seen enough rap music on it so far that it should be just called BET2.

^ I can celebrate music without you, MTV.
I've been celebrating music without you for 20 years now.

People are getting annoyed since when they advertised all this it seemed like they were bringing back recorded stuff with the old vjs, old performances from the 80s, and the old intro/commercials with the moon man not to mention 90s shows like the Maxx and such. So far it's all been the last 20 years which is why i think they've given the non millennial crowd the middle finger as usual. If you're over 35 they don't want you watching.

I remember my friends and I turning on the TV to MTV and leaving it on like it was the radio back when it first came on. Now, I can't remember the last time I flipped past MTV and saw ANYTHING having to do with music on there. It's crap filled crap with a crap coating.
