My friend is having his wedding part next saturday...he is a haunted house owner. As am I.
He was married during the haunt season last year. So he is finally having a reception and decided to have it be a Vampire them yeah he's a weird dude.

Anyway I plan on going as a hunter. Here's what I have so far already.

A long brown texas duster coat, the kind with the big flap on the back.
A leather adventurer hat.

I made a cross this morning, weathering it and staining it. Plan on making stakes, and maybe stake holsters???

But I have no idea on what kind of shirt, pants or what way to carry all the props without it being to uncomfortable...

If all else fails I have creepy contacts and fangs...I could just be a vampire...

Any pics of other costumes or suggestions?

Vampire Hunter huh?

If you are jewish or the wedding is a jewish wedding they go with a silver Star of David. Who says it has to be a cross?

Are you doing an old fashioned vampire hunter or a modern one, if you are modern hit an army surplus store and buy some belts and straps.

Get some little vials and put garlic in them and tie them around your neck, or even a necklass full of vampire teeth.

you should make a single point sling ,out of leather if you can, for the cross. that you can carry it comfortably

If it is for a campy party, stakes on a bandelero across the chest. Bottles of holy water on a belt, Batman utility belt style. Water gun in holster. Leave the garlic at home. And where is the spell check button?

Bonded Hawk

Alright well here's what I have now.

On one end the long rider coat and hat...
BUT I also have a punisher style black tactical vest with neck guard...
So now I'm torn between and old school van helsing style and a new Blade type...
Going out today to see what I might find.

I have always been a fan of the old school style, I think its my love for dusters. Might I suggest a dark brown, possibly leather vest, and maybe dark brown hunting pants...made to look warn. And maybe a medevil looking sword across the back to add a little Blade style to it.

Like all good hunters you need to dress to blend in :love

you dont hunt deer without being in camo

so you could still be a hunter and have items on your person but dressed to blend in with the crowd

thats just my quick thought on it I am not sure to what degree his theme is
but it might be more comfortabe for you.

just show a little gear enough for folks to notice your not a bloodsucker :lol

If you want to slightly fancy and perhaps a tad obscure you might want to look up an old anime by the name of Vampire Hunter D, it might give you some ideas/inspiration. However, D's costume (from what I can remember) wasn't all that elaborate like Van Helsing; speaking of Van Helsing there's also an anime called Helsing that might also be worth checking out for ideas.

it's always good to have:

Holy symbol
stakes
hammer for the stakes and back up weapon
Holy Water
Garlic
Sword
Dagger
Projectile weapon with ammo
gloves
armor or armor accents
Bad ass attitude

This is my opinion of course, generic as it is. Your imagination can flesh it all out :)

Amulets. See Hellboy gear. Van Helsing is also a good source of inspiration.
You could have, like, well, a horseshoe(as in hellboy) a crucifix(also, as in hellboy). Revolvers are also very cool. Silver bullets can come in handy, as werewolfs might be present. Oh, and a spell/monster book. Just to look cool.
