Vaders X1advanced TIE resin kit

It was a pleasure meeting you at Wonderfest! The casting I saw was clean enough to eat off of. Whoever gets one of these is going to be very pleased.

Yeah - that elevator was quite a thing, huh!!:love

Production of the kit will resume this weekend, i have been knocked out after the trip...:wacko

Rest up Lasse. You are in the home stretch now. I am so jealous of all you guys that made Wonderfest. I am in Indianapolis for the 500 and just could not get down for both. Looking forward to getting one of these so I can maybe bring it to Wonderfest next year.

Yes, me too. I am seriously interested and wonder how I missed this before... I e-mailed you last week. Are you going to take more kit orders?

I have tested and decided on another and more impact resistant resin for the wings and body of the X1. This is due to some thin parts chipping off on the wings cast in the first resin i tested.
I spoke to my resin supplier and he said that i can have all the resin i need in 2 to 3 weeks. The resin i have decided on is not usually stock material and must be ordered from France. I will cast 5 to 10 kits and then notify the first on the notification list.

If all goes as planned i will be able to ship out the first kits by the end of this month. As soon as I have the materials i need I will be producing kits as fast as i can to supply those who want to buy them.

I cast the first X1 body in the new resin yesterday and it looks extremely good.
I will not be pigmenting the resin in the wings and main body as shown in earlier production pictures. The resin will be the original light beige. The reason is that the resin may get marginally weaker after pigmentation, and it is fairly costly. I would have to as for nother 5 USD per kit if you want it colored grey. Getting colour consistency is also a slight problem and as i use different resins they react differently to the pigments.

Awwww, little Darth! Love it.

Lasse, the beige resin looks fine. The price increase is a pity but not a killer, it's partly offset by the decline in the US dollar exchange rate anyway. :) Cannot wait...

Thanks!
I am trying my best to keep costs down, but i also need to make money if i am ever to produce more kits :confused The costs of molding and casting these bastards are huge, and the time it took to make the master patterns is also an important factor. I really hope this kit is successful enough that i can continue in the kit business..:lol

The Vader pilot is a modified action figure 1:18 scale.

Truly amazing work. So many things to add to my Vader collection, so little money. I will have to give this some serious consideration now. LOL

The detail is amazing. Superb work.
