Vader Voice Modualtor/Changer That Works

Is there a kit out there? Or something that ACTUALLY works at an affordable price ($500 or under)? Or am I going to have to pull out my engineering books and rig something up?

To be honest, every voice thing being sold always has the same effect as the cheap halloween voicechangers sold at stores. Thats just my own views and opinion. The best thing to do is go online and buy one of those voicechanger science kits, and rig it to a portable amp and use a good mic. same nice effect
